Minnesota is getting thumped again. Why was Glen Mason let go? The guy only got them to mid level bowl games nearly every year he was there. 3 years later and I'm still baffled by his dismissal.

And has any team been hurt by injuries worse than FSU has ?

Today their #1 RB got carted off. Currently #1 QB, #1 RB, 2 of top 3 WR, #1 LT (and projected 1st rd pick), one of starting S and starting MLB are ALL OUT with injuries. Also 2 of our top 3 CB have missed time this year with injuries, but both are playing today.

Recruiting rankings helped fsu get that preseason ranking, but it sure doesnt help on saturdays. Wake forest is horrendous and beating them at halftime.

Uhm, read the post above...their QB, RB, top 2 WR and LT all hurt. Id like to see MSU play with that many players out. Not to mention MLB and S. Their backup freshman QB had 3 turnovers leading to Wake points and they now have to put in an injured Manuel to replace him because hes looked awful.

I wonder how MSU offense would look without Cousins, Baker, Cunningham, Martin, whoever their LT is, and defense without Bullough, and Robinson and also missing Adams and Dennard for significant time this year. Oh and if they also played a ranked team (let alone two of top 8 teams).

edit - and now the other starting S is hurt and helped off field. This has been the season from hell

MSU wasnt ranked 5th to start the season. With all the recruiting badges FSU has won, i would have thought they had some depth. Losing to horrible wake forest shows me thats not the case.

If you want to bring msu into for some unknown reason, msu did lose their LT, and his backup, and the RT. We could lose baker, and Bell would still be our starter. We could then lose Bell and Caper would again be our starter. And we have lost our number two receiver too, his name is bennie fowler, you dont know about him because he hasnt been on the field this year. Oh and cousins, i wish we had a reason to play maxwell.

But hey maybe we should have been ranked 5th (!) too lol

Bauserman throws a pick and Nebraska is just rolling. OSU is so screwed

That was a disaster...bummer...I was hoping Nebraska would get another L though...

Maybe nebraska is worse or osu is better than we thought. Both good for msu, osu scored 27 points on nebraska in lincoln.

The thing with OSU is that they are led by a freshman QB and a rookie coach.

The QB has talent, but as with most freshman, he's still trying to figure some things out. That's going to mean inconsistant play, especially when you are without some talent at other skill positions. He had almost 200 yards of offense until he was injured, and then Bungleman came into the game. The defense may be overrated a bit, but when Bungleman orchestrates 3 and outs and cannot complete more than 10% of his passes, the defense is going to get tired and beat from being on the field so much.

The coach is largely an unknown who has been thrown into a bad situation (and let's be honest, he may be part of that as well, we don't know for sure, and may not know for sure about the coaching staff's involvement in everything that's happened), and the results are painful thus far. While he may have had an uphill climb to begin with, he's made some on field decisions that have not helped himself out.

So, OSU is a pretty bad team right now. Nebraska is a pretty decent ballclub, maybe a little too highly ranked, but still top 25 material. And sometimes when mismatched teams like these meet on the field, the rankings go out the window for a while and you have a game that is a little closer than expected.

So with Wake Forests upset of FSU, this little stat appeared:

It was the 'Noles' seventh straight loss as a ranked team against an unranked road underdog dating back to 2005.

I think thats the definition of "overrated" in the dictionary. Wow.
