2011 Topps Heritage Minor League Edition

Recommended Posts

As Topps tries to ram as much Bryce Harper product onto the market as possible, this goofy (in my opinion) release is slated for September 12 according to SCD. I'll be happy to pick up new Turner and Castellanos cards, nonetheless, and at least this won't be a difficult Tiger set to complete. Give me Pro Debut over Heritage any day, though.

I don't know if this checklist is current/final:

Base

49 Jacob Turner

50 Chance Ruffin (assuming still as a Tiger prospect)

87 Daniel Fields

181 Andy Oliver

194 Nick Castellanos

Baseball America Short Print All-Stars

245 Jacob Turner

Autographs

No Tigers

Relics

No Tigers

I'm tempted to get this set auto'd. it would be easy to complete all the letters over the winter and mail them all at once during spring training.

It's a very nice design for autos. Unfortunately that's not the most accommodating group of TTM Tiger prospects.

Fields and Turner - yes.

Ruffin - maybe, since he's in a new organization.

Castellanos - doubtful (good in person, though).

Oliver - definitely not.

The cards are up on eBay and they look nice. Fields' card has the same photo as his 2011 Pro Debut card.

I just received the set I cobbled together from eBay. Is it me, or is the image quality on some of these cards terrible??? My Castellanos looks almost cartoon-like! Anyone else feel the same???

Nice to see the Avisail auto - I'm glad they got a Tiger auto in there.

I've never been a Heritage fan - I think most of the images look cheap. The only plus is you don't have to prep the cards. Regarding this minor league set, I believe it only exists as a vehicle for more Bryce Harper cards. That said, I'm definitely picking up the Tiger cards.
