MSU Football 2013 Recruiting Thread

Recommended Posts

OT Steve Elmer (Midland, MI) appears close to picking up an MSU offer. He needs to call the staff later on this evening, since they cannot give out verbal offers to 2013 recruits and camp. Kid is likely a top 50 prospect, and should be a 1-2 punch along with Morris for the top recruit in MI. His mother went to MSU, and they are really interested in MSU. Already has offers from Wisconsin and Mississippi State

Nice job replicating the thread, Brian.

Is this the kid that trucked Matt Godin at camp? This could be an awesome pick-up for MSU.

Yes, he would be the one. I'd love for him to be the first recruit off the board. Also keep an eye out on Jon Reschke, a LB from Brother Rice. His father is a former player, and he should be picking up an offer in the near future.

In addition to Steve Elmer, MSU appears to have another highly regarded in-state prospect leaning their way: Jon Reschke, LB, Brother Rice. His dad played OL at MSU. Early reports are outstanding, could be two of the top three in-state players.

He just got his offer.

FWIW, rumor is Riley Norman (6'6" 320) OT from Northern MI has committed to MSU. It's just a rumor right now, but would be huge to get the ball rolling... hope Reschke and Elmer come the Spring and we will be sitting pretty.

Heard he was 6'7'', either way, thats one hell of a big man, and he's only a rising Junior.

Him and Elmer are battling for best OT in the state. Why not make it easy and just sign both? Looks like we're well on our way...

Add Reschke, and we're on pace to get arguably three of the top 4 in state players in 2013. So much for Hoke-a-mania.

That "child" in red behind him, looks approximately the size of his right thigh. Hilarious that they appear to both be competing in the shot put...

Apparently someone from one of the sites not named Rivals or Scout, talked to him and he said he has not committed but he does plan on committing prior to his senior year. A friend of mine sent me this and this seems to be a good sign though...

WOTS is Reschke stopping in this weekend to check out practices. Good sign, IMO.

Yep. Lock this kid up, and Norman and Elmer, and that's 3 of the top 5 recruits in the state. Any momentum that Hoke has in-state would be gone. Elmer is the only one I'm worried about, and he is a battle between ND and MSU

That's funny. Oh, and you should be .. especially since Michigan is right there.

Not sure where you get your information from, but it's not a two team race - ND/MSU, sorry.

Yeah it is. The kid is not going to Michigan, no matter what spin Sam Webb tries to spin. And this is coming from guys that know the kid (that post on SpartanMag).. It is a MSU/ND battle. And why are you in this thread anyways, obsessed about MSU's recruiting? If you want to spin stuff about Elmer, go do it in your recruiting thread. Get lost

No more you guys can post over there but we can't post here, sorry .. those days are gone.

We'll see, but more people than just Sam Webb say Michigan has a good chance.

You always cry and complain "trolling" when we post on your board. You're the one that wanted separate recruiting threads, and you already said you won't post here. That lasted 3 weeks. Great job. Now go away.

Yes, more people have said Michigan is in the mix. The kid just brought his whole family to Ann Arbor and his father is on record multiple times talking about the formula he has put together for evaluating schools which includes a heavy emphasis on academics. It also includes depth chart which I don't think will favor Michigan given the current recruiting class. The Spartan reasoning is that his dad is a ND fan and his mom a State grad so they are the players. Maybe that does give them the edge but it hasn't eliminated Michigan.

MSU/ND race, believe what you want though. The dad is a huge ND fan, and the mother his mother is an MSU grad/supporter. They both hate Michigan, his family is nice people, and are just being considerate of UM's overtures, but he is not going to UM.

If you want to talk about UM's .000001% chance of landing him, take it to the UM 2013 recruiting thread.

Makes sense, and the depth chart will be an issue against Michigan, but they're very much in it.
