Western Michigan: Win

Notre Dame: Loss

Eastern Michigan Win

San Diego State Win

Minnesota Win

@ Northwestern Loss

@ Michigan State Loss

Purdue Win

@ Iowa Loss

@ Illinois Loss

Nebraska Loss

Ohio State Loss

I'll take the earlier belief of 5-7. Last season Michigan had wins over UMass, Illinois and Indiana that could have easily gone the other way. I think next season with a new offensive scheme being implemented, a weak defense (even with better coaching) and the transition as a whole will make those games go the other way. I might consider switching the Northwestern and Illinois outcomes if reports out of camp/spring practice are actually really good and have the team making large positive strides.

If only we had hired Phillip Fulmer...

And Benke, its not your time to retire from the site. The constant mockery needs to be taken as a compliment.

It's really not.

It's really not.

People do it to get a rise out of you and because they like you. People would just ignore you if they didnt like or respect what you have to say. Michigan football and recruiting threads wouldnt be the same if you left.

Charlie Sheen has a better chance of staying in the friendly confines of his orgy palace and managing to quit porn stars & blow than you do this website. It's too addictive.

In the event that you disagree, I'd hope that you'd do me a single courtesy and create one last going away graphic.

That would be cool. :chinese:

You know, I know you're raggin' me here, and to truth be told .. it's cool.

Honestly, and I have made it pretty clear in the past, though I am actually done making graphics for this site. Not to mention, all the constant mockery I take, I am guessing, will more than likely be my farewell from here in due time. I am actually working on something kind of big these days anyway, so I'm not sure if I'll have the time for anything else. Heck, I'm sure these last two posts will spark more banter on the subject, so thanks.

JB, it's good to hear you have something "big" going on. Still, I hope you stick around and we have lots to celebrate as the Hoke era begins.

He already made it but won't post it, just to spite you.

Rivals.com College Football - Redshirts ready to make an impact in '11

Rivals gives a list of red-shirt freshmen they think can have an impact next season.

For Michigan, LB Jake Ryan was mentioned ... not the first time I have read him looking good.

I wonder if Ryan can play the strong side. The guy I'm excited to see is Furman, though UM has a lot of guys for the WLB and SS spots.

I forgot about Ryan, but I hope to see him along with Furman looking good in spring ball. Something has to go right for UM football soon.

Yah he's been getting a lot of love locally, but it's nice to see nationally. Supposedly the most dominant player in bowl practices "making every tackle when he's out there" according to RVB. I think he locks down the strong side job for us

Yah I think Gordon,Furman,Jones and Ryan can more than lock down the OLB spots. That's a pretty good group to me, plus Fitzgerald for some vet leadership at times and of course Kenny D in the middle

Not sure if you were watching the Hoke presser Benke. He talked about Gardner and his medical redshirt.

He said that isn't handled until his eligibility is up. So I guess we don't get a decision for 3 more years?

This doesn't make any sense, unless they've changed the rules recently. I believe Junior Hemingway got one just a couple of years ago.

Obviously it is going to happen again. But I don't think next year is the year. OSU looks like it will have a better offense and defense again next year. Home field advantage and emotion can make a big difference, but even at UM the games haven't been particularly competitive recently.

It would be interesting to compare UM fans reactions to a win by Hoke with OSU fans reactions to Tressell's win against UM in his first year.

they lost by four points two years ago to a vastly superior OSU team. Tressel on the road plays close to the (sweater) vest. I think the odds of winning that game are as good as losing it.

If talent were the be-all-end-all USC would never lose a game. Better teams lose rivalry games on the road all the time.

They lost by 11 two years ago. And 11 again 4 years ago. They haven't been within one score at the end since 2006. Yes, Tressel plays close to the vest in road games. He also played very conservative in 2008 when his team won 42-7. He'll have a senior and four year starter at QB and I wouldn't count on him being anywhere close to as conservative as he's been the last two road trips (30 total passes) unless UM's offense is as incompetent as it has been the previous two trips to Ann Arbor.

I'm not saying UM has no chance to win the game. However, if you are giving me even odds right now on UM, I'd certainly take that bet.
