The 2011 Adopt A Tiger Draft Extravaganza

Recommended Posts

Crap! I intended to send Yoop a message switching the order of my draft list, and it appears it never got sent. I was gonna move Ryan Perry ahead of Clete Thomas.

Now I have a dilemma. I want to adopt Perry, but I don't want to mess up the draft or abandon Clete.

I guess it's fate. Michael C. Thomas is my 2011 AAT.

Fields just LOOKS like a ballplayer. That pink jersey tho???? Whew....... I'm sure it's for breast cancer awareness, but please.... can we just keep it to bats and wristbands??

Actually, the prospect picks are going to be the most exciting for me. I can't wait to see who is scooped up. Very good stuff. I have a couple guesses, but I don't want to steal anyone's thunder.

The jerseys probably bring in a lot of money during an auction, which I would think is the main point...

I REALLY wanted Benoit... but I'm kind of excited about the next guy on my list... hopefully he lasts...

I don't want to have to take Rhymes and break catswithbats' heart

Timo Perez is back! Also Josh Rainwater.

TIMO??!!?? Gawds....isn't he, like, about 42 years old now?? IF he's playing well, I liked him back in '07 anyway! Good on him.

Was this when he was with Erie, or someone else? What park is that? Thanks

That is when he was with the Lakeland Flying Tigers. You can tell by the unique stencil-style numbers and letters.

And the previous poster was correct. That is Dunedin Stadium in Dunedin, FL

TODD ANDREW SMYLY

Lefty Starting Pitcher

Born: June 13th, 1989

Maumelle, Arkansas

6'3" - 190 lbs.

Selected in the 2nd round of the 2010 draft (68th), out of the University of Arkansas.

1.1 million signing bonus.

Smyly averages 93 mph, and usually displays good control.

He uses three pitches, including lots of four seam fastballs, a plus change up, and a curveball.

His 6'3" frame allows this lanky southpaw a very deceptive advantage, creating a downhill angle to fool hitters.

.....

I found some pics of Drew from his days in Arkansas but i cant seem to post them. Im not sure if Wendy or Huey have had a chance to get any yet, i believe Smyly starts his first pro season this spring. I wonder where he projects to start? Maybe West Michigan? If anyone has pics or more info on my new AAT, i would be muchos grateful.

I show this was with Lakeland in Dunedin, Fl the home of the Blue Jays. Dunedin Field replaced Grant Field in the same location in 1990. It had a 2000 renovation. It is time for another though parking should be high on their list.
