2010 Pistons Offseason Thread

Good for him..Darko has a ring too..

There's a lot of teams out there that haven't sniffed an ECF or a Ring in the last 10 years. It sucks that Joe D has mismanaged the team so badly the last couple of years, but remember we could be the Clippers

There's the low-quality big man.

Diogu, Maxiell, Wilcox. So much energy off the bench! These guys can get you an offensive rebound!

Looks like the Nuggets are still cross-eyed when it comes to trading Carmelo. If they are opening up their options, why isn't Dumars jumping in?

Because that trade would remind everyone that Dumars f*cked up by drafting Darko over Carmelo in the first place.

Pistons aren't getting Melo since he won't resign here and the ownership is in flux. Not a chance.

Don't know how I feel about Diogu. Seems like another Max or Wilcox which is something they don't need.

Melo wouldn't sign here is the biggest reason that trade isn't happening.

Here's the Carmelo trade that works for us:

Troy Murphy and Derrick Favors to the Pistons,

Carmelo Anthony to the Nets,

Rip Hamilton, two Nets 1st round picks, maybe a Pistons' 1st round pick, and any combination adding from $0 to about $6 mill in salaries of: McGrady, Stuckey, Maxiell, Daye, Summers, and/or Terrico White.

Nets get Melo, Pistons get Favors and salary relief, Nuggets get multiple 1st round picks, a scorer in Rip, and a couple other young players and/or McGrady.

This trade might work a month+ into the season when everyone sees that Rip & McGrady still have "it". Close to the deadline, when the Nuggets see they'll lose Melo for nothing, they'll pull the trigger.

The Nuggets would be better off trading Melo to NJ for Murphy, Favors, and some picks. You have them getting back a giant pile of steaming crap for one of the best players in the league.

Even if Rip and McGrady still have it, they are old. Denver enters rebuild mode if they lose Anthony and has no interest in older players unless its someone like Murphy for cap relief.
