Game 40: Pistons Vs Knicks - 1/18/10

Recommended Posts

I would rather have Maxiell's contract than Rip's.

Why? Hamilton is worth his contract, Maxiell is not. Don't put Hamilton in the same boat. Hamilton just doesn't really fit the Pistons team, but lots of other ones would be happy to have him.

I probably have been as soft on Joe D as anyone over the years in terms of being overly critical, but that was one deal that puzzled me. It just seemed like you could sign him one-year deals. If he left, big deal - the league is full of so-so energy-type players that are over-emphasized for their contribution when they have that 5-minute spurt that seemingly "dominates" the game once every couple weeks. And forgotten is what little they bring beside that energy. Two years tops.

Looks like Max was having one of these little spurts while I was typing this. :classic:

Looks like I will lose my David Lee Over/Under bet.

Play the game next time. This will drag the average really low and the over is going to look like a really nice bet.

If this is true, then we should be able to trade him by the deadline. Good luck with that.

Sounds like Stuckey being Stuckey.

GOOD - 2:08 David Lee blocks Rodney Stuckey's layup 85-92

2:06 Detroit offensive rebound 85-92

BAD - 2:02 Rodney Stuckey misses layup 85-92

2:01 85-92 Jared Jeffries defensive rebound

GOOD - 1:57 85-92 Jared Jeffries bad pass (Rodney Stuckey steals)

BAD - 1:47 Rodney Stuckey offensive foul (Al Harrington draws the foul) 85-92

GOOD - 1:25 Another Stuckey steal.

Here's a stat line for you

Austin Daye 6-12 FG, 0-6 3 pt FG.

I'm not a math major but that makes him 6-6 inside the arc I think.

Maybe he should stay inside the arc?:cheeky:

Edit: Darn, he must've known I was making that post. He missed a 16-footer.

I think Stuckey has to be Stuckey sometimes because absolutely nobody else is an option, so he takes it recklessly to the hoop trying to create. Can't really blame him for that...

Doesn't it seem like Max spent all offseason practicing mid-range jumpers and came out this year on a mission to prove that he isn't a one dimentional player? And isn't it glaringly obvious that that is exactly what he is? He would be at least a mediocre role player by posting up, dunking, and maybe rebounding once and a while.

Tough to beat anybody when $32 million is sitting on the bench though....

Sure, if the Pistons want to trade him, doesn't seem like that is the plan though, since they just extended him last year.
