Thanks. I wonder how much for inscriptions?

If there was a charge for inscriptions-- Mark would have it noted on the flyer- he rarely charges for inscriptions. He only charges if the player wants it.

8th Annual Stubby Overmire Field Sportscard Memorabilia Show and Live Auction

It will again be held on Sat., Feb. 22 at Lee High School, located at 1335 Lee St. SW in Grand Rapids. Great dealers again this year, with the tables sold out weeks ago. Lee High School patron Denny McLain, who has raised many thousands of dollars for the Lee High School baseball team by donating his time for many years, will be signing autographs for only $10 each, as will Jacksonville Jaguar Cameron Mayfield for $5 each. See the website below for times and additional information:

Wyoming Lee Baseball - (Wyoming, MI) - powered by LeagueLineup.com The website does not mention it, but the charge for Denny's inscriptions are: first one is free, then $5 per inscription. Remember that all the funds goes to help our leaders of tomorrow.

At the auction, which begins at 4:30, you can bid on some very unique items, including some memorabilia signed by deceased Hall of Famers Stan Musial, Ernie Harwell, Bob Feller, and others. But two very special items will also be available:

1) A suite at Comerica Park for the Sat., April 19, when the Tigers entertain the Angels. It can be cold outside, but you will stay warm in this suite. First pitch is 1:08PM. You will get 18 suite tickets, along with three parking passes. Food is not included, but will be available for a fee. This suite was generously donated by former Lee High School Rebel Kevin Pastoor and his company Aon Risk Solutions; thank you Kevin!

2) You and three of your friends can go to a Tiger game at Comerica Park as a guest of baseball's only living 30 game winner, two time CY award winner, and our friend, Denny McLain. You and Denny will have to agree on a date this summer that is mutually acceptable. The four tickets are courtesy of Denny, but more important he will entertain you with incredible stories. After the game he will take you out for dinner. The guy who played with Kaline, Lolich, Cash, Reggie Jackson, the '72 Championship A's, Catchfish Hunter, Eddie Mathews, Hank Aaron, Curt Flood, and who was managed by Ted Williams also has an in depth knowledge of the game that he will share with you. P.S. If you win this, be sure to ask Denny about Mantle's 535th home run, and also what happened to the next batter, Joe Pepitone. That story alone will be worth whatever you pay for the bid! Don't forget to have your picture taken with the man Ernie called "The Maestro." The winning bidder will have memories that last a lifetime!

You can bid on these items at anytime on line by emailing Lee High School Coach Ty Emerlander at coachty6@hotmail.com Ty will keep you informed of the status of the bidding, which will end at the live auction on Sat. night.

MOST IMPORTANT, DON'T FORGET THAT ALL FUNDS RAISED FROM TABLE FEES, FOOD SALES, AUCTIONS, ETC. WILL GO DIRECTLY TO HELPING THE YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN AT LEE HIGH SCHOOL, A VERY POOR SCHOOL DISTRICT WITH VERY LIMITED FUNDS. SOME OF THE FUNDS WILL BE USED FOR IMPROVEMENTS AT THE STUBBY OVERMIRE FIELD. SO BE GENEROUS!

Denny McLain will be signing autographs at the Gibraltar Trade Center - Taylor this Sat., Feb.15, from 11AM - 3PM.

Cost is $17 per auto with one inscription, plus $10 total for an additional 1 -7 inscriptions. Very inexpensive for a AL MVP, two time CY winner, three-time All-Star, and the only living 30 game winner!

Fun Fact about Denny: McLain hit a home run in his major league debut in 1963, and never hit another one!

I posted the above earlier. Since then there has been a change in the signers. Cameron Mayfield had to cancel, but he was replaced by Ray Bentley, who played on two Super Bowl teams with Buffalo Bills, as well as with the Michigan Panthers in the old USFL. For details on both signings go to: Wyoming Lee Baseball - (Wyoming, MI) - powered by LeagueLineup.com

This website also lists some of the great items for sale at their auction.

Don't miss it. I plan to be there and take in one of the great shows in West Michigan. And don't forget: all the funds goes to help our leaders of tomorrow!

More details are available for this signing. Legend's is now bringing in Kyler Elsworth and Fou Fonoti. Pricing is $20 for both or $15 for Elsworth and $10 for FonotiThe date is still Sunday, March 9th 2014 from 4:30pm - 6:00pm. I think this and what Glen posted is a good sign that there will be a good about of Spartan signings in the coming months.

Wish I knew earlier Bentley was going to be there. Anyone go? Any Panthers photos available?

Wondering if MTS can do me a favour.

Anyone want to shoot me an email if they hear of a Chris Osgood signing? I don't check this area regularly, so im afraid if one comes up I may miss it.

Would be much appreciated.

I'm pretty sure you just missed a private signing with DC Sports with a deadline of February 22. I'm sure if you are just looking for a puck or photo, they could hook you up. If you are looking to send in, you are probably out of luck. I would sign up for their e-mail list, as I'm sure they will do another signing with him in the future.

I asked Mark yesterday why he was having them again, he said Laga was there in (2011) and the 30th anniversary of the 1984 team this year and customers have been asking for 1984 guys.

Blessitt is local and it's been a few years. I still like the show-- only place in Detroit area doing 2 guys a month- whether they are guys I need or not.

Totally agree. They aren't always going to be guys we all need. The only thing I would say about the 84 guys is it would be nice to shake it up a bit- a chet lemon, a ruppert jones, a howard johnson, those type of guys. We've seen alot of Petry, Evans, Bergman, etc. I think most of us have most of these guys, but there are a few who haven't been around in quite a long time, so it would be good if they could bring in some of the ones in that we haven't seen much of. Obviously Trammell would be great, but he has a day job....
