I don't like the fact that the X and Nexus doesn't have an SD card slot. The X is intriguing but I think it would be worth it to wait for the Nexus.

SD is a weird thing. They were all but gone, but made a comeback this year. It would be nice if they had higher storage options in general.

32 is a little light but I could make do. Hopefully they release a 64.

I still haven't upgraded my Samsung S. I have determined my needs are rather simple......okay camera, 4G, tethering, robust and great graphics. Won't be playing games or doing much internet. I watch family and friends lives who are surrounded in the WiFi world and that is no me. When I get in my shop, my PC is on and I'll get my fix then, not out in public. I will not answer the phone while driving, usually can't even access it. I have mastered texting and use it for Wx. Not much else. But this S does some things I can't live with like turns itself to airplane mode, turns off the volume, will just shut down in the middle of a text on a full battery or lock up until you remove the battery and reboot.

I've got a few of them, and they are pretty cool... but I've had mixed results with them. Mostly it's just spotty reception with my phone.

However, this could be a problem with my situation more than with Android in general. I have an S5 with a third party wireless charger. The NFC antenna on the S5 is incorporated in the battery (this forces you to buy Samsung batteries) and this is partially covered by the wireless charger. Plus I have a plastic case on the phone.

In an ideal world I'd just pass the phone over the tag and it would pick it up. However, in reality I find myself holding the phone over the tag moving around a little bit to try and trigger the scan. Once I get the scan, then it works well with tasker... it's just getting that scan that I find troublesome.

Just got a warranty replacement moto x that was still on 4.4.2, so I decided to unlock the boot loader. I'll have to install a custom recovery and root it tonight or tomorrow. Good times.

I have rooted via towel root one click root. Given my lack of time to devote to this, I may just keep rejecting the OTA update ate and keep the current 4.4.2 setup. I have L softkeys, so what else could I want.

Ha. I have to decide now if I want to install a custom recovery and permanently root it. I can't find a stock rooted 4.4.4, but I don't have to decline the OTA daily either. I am so far out of date with this stuff, and don't have the extra time to climb back in.

After spending way too much time on it, i am back on 4.4.4 with root and an unlocked bootloader. Woohoo.

An "official" Nexus 6 render has been turned up by EvLeaks. Looks like a beast.

Also, the lady on the wallpaper has folder boobies.

I heard the new Moto X got some nice reviews and it's about as close to stock Android as you can get from a non Nexus phone. I'll have to wait for this to come out to decide.

This will have Android L, and a better battery. Android L and project volta are supposed to help efficiency. I like the custom Moto software that is on the Moto x, which will not likely be on the nexus 6 though. Also, it is unlikely that the Nexus 6 will be available on VZW. VZW is getting the Droid Turbo which will have an uglier design (subjective) but has a monster battery and the the moto addons.

The Turbo is also interesting as well. Any word on the pricing? Looks like it is releasing on the 28th but I imagine it will be more than the X or Nexus. That battery sure is tempting though.
