I'd hate to be on Verizon. Inflated prices, bad phone selection, unbelievable carrier bloat, terrible customer service, no Nexus devices..

Rated #1 in customer service, which baffles me, because I have had horrible experiences. Can't beat the breadth of coverage though. It is that (we have a home in northern Mi still), and still having unlimited that keeps me there. The X is close enough to a nexus for me until VoLTE is the standard, then they will not be able to block unlocked devices from the network.

I love Verizon. I have great 4G reception in work while my Sprint co-workers can't even stream Youtube inside the building. There have never been any issues with my account or network so I don't have to contact them so I can't comment on customer service.

Being better than sprint isn't much to brag about. ;-)

A lot of people here get Sprint because it's cheaper but they get what they pay for. Some have T-Mobile which isn't much better than Sprint. I get better download speeds on my phone than my home network sometimes.

I was thinking about leaving Verizon and found that Sprint would have cost me about 25 bucks more a month to replace my current VZW plan, but to be fair, I have an older grandfathered plan. If I were to switch now, I would most likely go to a GSM prepaid plan.

New Edit: Use the coupon code VZWDEAL to get a standard model for free on contract.

Lol, the moto x has a winter themed clogo and boot animation that will show up on the 9th. If you don't want to wait, set your device date to the 10th and reboot. Its little things like this that really prove that moto is truly a google company.

.....when the FedEx man cometh.

Now, no more phones for two years!

You got another house phone?

No, it replaces the 2 which is now the backup. My excuse runs like this.......16 GB on Note 2 is not enough, especially with Verizon bloatware. I've been pegged to the top of my internal storage limit for months now. Sick of deleting apps when I want to add one. And I don't think move app to my SanDisk works. Second.....4.3 messed up the 2. Too many screen freezes including one that prevented me from answering a call on Saturday. Barely got the answer swipe to work before it would have gone to voicemail. Reseting the phone might work. But that takes too much time. The 3 solves all this. I can't go smaller than the 2. Everyone I know that has one feels the same. Once you get used to the screen size there ain't no going back. Which pretty much limits me to this phone and one or two others. I would have gladly kept this for another year as it's been my favorite one except for the GB limit. That's my story and story and I'm sticking to it.

My favorite bloggers refer to it as the house phone, because it is a really great phone while sitting around the house, but they don't want to take it with them anywhere. I know what you mean about 4.3, and Samsung screwing the pooch with it, my wife's S3 is the same way. I think that 4.7" is the sweet spot for screen size; its about as big as it can be while still being easy to use one-handed. I personally cannot stand touchwiz and the crazy button configuration on Sammy devices, but they sell a **** ton of them, so that will not likely change in the near future. One of my former students got one and loves it, and my new boss has one too.

If Google produced a Nexus 5.5 I'd jump on it. All other things being equal. Last time with the Galaxy Nexus I had bad signal for some reason.....and I think Sammy made that one though I'm not sure. I remember we went back and forth on that a few times. Sammy signal strength is solid with the Note 2. I don't care for skins but they don't bug me too much. Touchwiz is less intrusive than Sense....don't know about Moto these days. I usually go with Apex or Nova or something which helps but of course doesn't strip out everything. I need a big screen because I do alot of investment research on it....web, twitter/rss feeds, etc.

I went back and forth 38 times, but I'm jumping on the Moto X bandwagon. A 32 Gig, green and white X is in my hands.

The reviews are almost universally positive... I was able to pick one up off-contract, $350, keep my Verizon unlimited...Feels like a win-win. I've had good experiences with Motorola products, and expect that with their Google affiliation things should be great moving forward.

Its a great phone, isn't it? I kept my unlimited by using our 3rd line to beat the system.

Having received a very nice gift of a Galaxy Tab 3 and a wireless router, am now wondering the best way to set up the router. Do I install the software on my aging iMac, and does the router replace another cord that's currently in my modem (I have DSL)?

I think I'll like it once I get used to it... I'm like a cat who takes a while to warm up to anything new. ;)

Edit: All is well. My bf came over, played with the wires and set up the router, and now I'm good to go. Now I get to show him how to use the tablet itself. :)
