Hull earns a key draw, but after Sunday's game are back in 18th place. It sounds like they were lucky to keep it a scoreless draw. Oh well, even if it was just for a day it was nice being back in 17th.

Now comes today's big game for West Bromwich Albion. Need a win to keep up with the top two.

Amir Zaki to Hull. Probably doesn't bode well for Jozy, unless they want to play Zaki off of him.

Altidore didn't play this weekend. What probably didn't bode well for Jozy more than anything was his performance. He wasn't doing much of anything and he was given a ton of playing time. I can't blame anyone for putting him on the backburner at this time at all. He's had his chance to provide some punch and, frankly, has failed.

I can tell you one thing - He has a pretty impressive card in my game I created. :classic:

I actually recognized the name when you mentioned it. I was on the Hull page yesterday and didn't notice the addition then. Apparently it happened today.

Roman Bednar puts a header in very early in the second half - I just got lucky and saw the very end of the replay from it - from about 2 feet outside the net very close to one of the posts. I can't tell you how it got there. If I flipped it on two seconds earlier, I'd have that answer.

2-1 WBA

So what kind of impact does losing Dempsey have on the national team? Are we pretty deep there or is he the last guy we wanted to lose?

Also, is Gooch gonna play in the world cup?

Another set play just outside the box - ball trickles just outside the post.

WBA appears to be taking control of this game.

Just flipping it on every couple minutes or so.

Buddha and others will give you a better answer to this, but it's going to have a dramatic impact in my opinion. The US only has a handful of people that can be argued as EPL-quality players and Dempsey's one of them. He's had a reasonably decent year from all accounts and is a fixture for Fulham.

From what little I know, I'd call him our best midfielder. He played great in the Confederation Cup and was, unquestionably, going to start all three games.

It would be a severe blow to the US.

They said on the tele that it was 'cause he had family in Haiti???

Not that he wasn't necessarily going to get dropped anyway...

I'm sure you are right. I just looked at the summary and the stats. That would make sense.

The tele was also v positive about Donovan again fwiw.

The suggestions I read were that Dempsey's knee was well and truly buggered actually - Hodgeson says suspected cruciate. He'd be lucky to be running in 6 months time if it is.

That was the impression I got. It sounds like he's going to be out. When it comes to the knee usually even if they don't have it nailed before an MRI, if they think it's going to be a long rehabilitation, they are right about that. They just may not know the severity.

I'm sure it has happened, but I can't recall right off one time people thought 6 months was the possible prognosis about a day after an injury and after an MRI they said "Oh, forget it. He'll be back playing in two months."

England's trip to the Round of 16 gets easier by the day.

Doing searches I still haven't found anyone that has said 100 percent conclusively this is what the doctor said after the examination.

I'm sure it's not good, but you'd think something would be out somewhere by now.

The Fulham site says nothing is torn and he should be back before the end of the Premiership season without surgery

Of course, in the same segment ESPN segued into the City/United match by describing City as "the working man's team" so reliability is a bit suspect :lick:

Guzman's one of yours isn't he?

Bit dodgy isn't he - threw one in tonight (do you get league cup games? Martin's comments after Allardyce had ranted a bit were v humourous if you get the chance)

AUGH!

Wolverton draws Liverpool 0-0.

I sense the nails starting to be hit on Hull's coffin.

Beating Wolverton on Saturday is mandatory. A draw won't do it. Points won't come easy and Hull has +/- issues it'll probably never erase for tiebreaking situations. They need to get 3 points at home Saturday. If not, a nail in the coffin gets pounded.
