Where has the "Eat'em up Tigers" guy benn?

Recommended Posts

I've been to a few games this year, but I have yet to see him this year. I always make a point to walk in his direction when going to the game. Anyone know where he has been?

Police sources have told me he actually lives in a nice apartment in Detroit and doesn't even need that wheelchair.

I have heard he made enough for an apartment, but Im not sure we are talking about the same guy because Ive never seen him in a wheelchair.

Wouldn't surprise me to learn there is more than one guy. Also wouldn't surprise me that it's the same guy - both in and out of the wheelchair.

The guy that claims he came up with "Eat em up Tigers" does roll around in a wheelchair (at least everytime I've seen him), and I have not seen him either. One less bum hasseling me on my way to a game.

I've never seen the "Eat 'em up Tigers" guy in a wheel chair. Talking about the one pictured here and I've also seen him next to the church as well. He stands pretty much right where he is in the picture. You can see the picture of the old Johnny Rockets in the background.

His name is James Van Horn. I have talked to people who know James and apprantly he has a drug problem. Hopefully this is not the reason he has not been around.

Yeah I've seen James there a few times this year. It's crazy because I always thought he was actually rich because he used to have business partners with him that would sell his t-shirts. But last summer, I went to the box office to buy tickets for a game, and I saw him walking on Witherell and gave him a shout out. So I guess maybe he really is homeless. It's pretty sad if he squandered all the merch money already.

I saw him there this past Sunday. It was right before the game started, and he was making his way away from Comerica, right in front of the dude who plays the saxophone.

Yeah you must be walking on the other side of the park because he's always on Montcalm just after you cross Woodward walking from Hockeytown & Johnny Rockets toward the park. I see him there every game.

I had a 27-game package last year, and the few times I saw him he was in a wheelchair, but moving around in it by scuffling his feel, not using his hands, so I don't know.

That's the guy! He seemed like a really nice guy. I always gave him some change because he had a great voice and that was such a great little song. He use to be at every game, but I havn't seen him this year

That's him. Sometimes he's in a wheelchair, others not. The last time I saw him he was in a wheelchair. But he can walk just fine.

If you want to help the homeless, find a good charity that funds programs on their behalf.

Handing out change on the street only helps them to participate in activity that caused them to be homeless to begin with.

If you had a relative or friend with a cocaine problem would you buy them more cocaine?

Next game I go to, I'm giving him 20 bucks.

Give the guy a break! Yes, I believe that you should earn your money and not have it given to you for free, but the guy seems like a nice guy and entertains Tiger Fans! He's not hurting anything
