Reminds me of Black Box Revelation which is good. Sy Borg on drums?

I had no idea who Black Box Revalation was so I just looked them up on YouTube just now and wow those guys are great, totally the sound we are trying to go for.  Appreciate the feedback and happy to have discovered a new band!

We are strongly influenced by the Detroit garage rock scene, from The Stooges to The MC5 to The White Stripes.

Saw them open for Jane's Addiction and really liked them a lot.

I really dig that tune Zakk, nice work.

While I was quarantining, much to my surprise, I had a "record drop" as well haha.   Something we did all of the tracking for in the studio but never mixed wound up getting mixed.

"Making it Happen" might be more in your realm Biff

It's strange, that band kinda swung between legit hipster **** and 90s hipster ****

Word. Love a good pick slide. Reminds me a lot of Radio Friendly Unit Shifter which is a criminally underrated song.

Less than 24 hours in, and already had someone call me greedy for not selling my pedals to him for the price he thought was fair for my pedals over Marketplace.    🤣🤣

It was awesome, he offered me 100 for **** I had priced at 145 total, so I countered 125 for it, then he told me I shouldn't put OBO on my ad if I wasn't planning to take less than asking, even though 125 < 145

How dare you wait more than 1 day and not settle for the first lowball offer.

I have a pretty sweet Breedlove acoustic coming today! The Martin's neck is shot after 15 years. These have some pretty unique markings and had to order online as nobody local carries them so I'm a little nervous to see what arrives.

Eh. It was an in-between Martin. Made in the US, but the neck was some BS fake wood. I got my moneys worth out of her. It was time for something new.

Worth a shot. Not really in love with the acoustic so I'm going to return it. Easy enough. I hate the idea of not having an acoustic in my hands before buying it, but also hate being limited to whatever guitar center has in stock.

The breedlove is a nice enough guitar. Didn't love the coloring and hate the glossy finish. I much prefer a satin/matte finish on an acoustic. Oh well.

Also an update on the Explorer. A while back I bought a Gibson "goth" explorer and me and a buddy are turning it into a replica of James Hetfield's black ESP MX-250. We had a ***** of a time with the body. It had a pickguard and the pickup toggle was in no-man's land. We moved it to where it is on James' guitar, or close to it, and his doesn't have a pick guard, so we had to fill a cavity that was carved into the body.

The filler was constantly swelling and/or shrinking. We'd even it back out, let it sit for a week, and if there was no change, we'd paint. Then after a week it would show up again. We probably completely stripped it and started over 5 or 6 times over the course of 6 months. FINALLY we tried another method of just covering the entire top with an Elmers filler, sanded it down, and the trench has been gone for a solid month. Now we've spent the last couple weeks giving her the final paint job. Primer, 5 laters of paint,  my buddy "sanded to ******* perfection" according to him. I then took a charcoal, almost black paint and painted the snake from the black album on the face. Just wanted to give it something unique and I think it looks pretty cool. We then did 12 layers of clear. Came out great.

Now tomorrow I'm shipping it off to a company in Oklahoma for a 12th fret "FUKLARS" inlay, and they're going to give it a complete fret job. That'll be a month probably before I get it back, and then we'll do one last coat of clear, polish it, and install the hardware!

Pretty excited.

that **** is cool.   I really need to learn how to do stuff like that..... I'm terrible at it, I can't even adjust the action or a truss rod.  I tried to fix the intonation on my strat once and it was a total disaster.   I guess the good thing is that I'm going to pay for a setup anyways, why not try it first?

I love listening to these guys. They've been friends and bandmates for almost 50 years.
