The demo is out on the PSN store. I DL'ed it and this is one of the finest games graphics wise I have seen yet. Game play- from the few innings I did play it was very nice.

MLB The Show 09 comes out today. Anyone here picking it up? If so, anyone interested in starting a league(online)? I always wanted to try it. Just could never find a decent number of people to get one started.

Unfortunately, I'll have to keep playing the demo for a while... =\

I've played about four games thus far and love it. Graphics are terrific (first time I've played baseball on HD), and gameplay is even better. Hitting is really tough, but that's a good thing.

I'm going to pick it and Killzone 2 up in the morning. Would be interested in joining an online league also. Rather it be with a group of friends, or at least some.

The game is AMAZING. Best baseball game since MVP 2005. A group of people at operationsports.com are working on a roster file that will have all the minor league players included. They hope to be done by opening day.

Does it have all the players that have had MLB experience in the game? Or how do they have the minors added in?

Yes, it only has players who have played in the Majors. The rest of the minor leaguers are ficticious.

I cant hit worth crap in RTTS. Its a lot harder than last year

That's probably a good thing. It'd be better to take 4-5 seasons to get a taste of the show, than getting there at the end of season 2.

Last night created a Player for Road to the Show.

3B Primary with 2B/SS Secondary

Then it asks if you want to pick a team or enter the draft. So I figured i'd random it up, got drafted by the D-Backs in the 5th round.

So far I really like how they changed the point system, and the training items. Basically each off day the coach asks you to hit the Cages and you get some training points on your skills you accel at.

After about 15 Spring Training games i'm hitting around .217, and just finally had my first HR. It is alot more realistic than last season in that respect.

So much more realistic than 08 in RTTS. My first ST with the new player he hit something like .434 and then made it to the Majors late in Season 2 when Maggs got injured.

Now after the first ST my player got this...

32G, 98AB, 19H, .194Avg, 1HR, 9RBI, 1 Double, 2 CS, 3GIDP, 23K, 2E

With the change to the points it looks like your player might be on the level of a utility MLB guy around season 4-5.

told you it is a lot harder, i might adjust some of the sliders because I ended up at about .240 in ST. I was pretty clutch though, I had 20 something RBI. Funny enough I also got a 10 game hitting streak, I went like 1-4 or 1-5 every game it seemed like.

Around game 15 when I had my first homer I was hitting about .242 after a 4-8 game, but then went on that freefall to end at the .194avg. Put in Killzone 2 after, so haven't started the season after the Dbacks signed me for 3 years.

After pinch hitting 4 times in the short season I got my first start, at SS. Got 3 soft singles and came up in the 9th inning. Swung at the first ball then got pulled from the game. End the game and find out i fractured my hand and due to the severity of the injury i've been put on the 60 day DL.

I did it! I just said "screw it" and did it! Some people might think I'm crazy for buying an entire $400 game console (two weeks before an expected $100 price drop) for a single game, but I did it! I'm so glad! This game is UNBELIEVABLE.

This game -- and I've only played it a very small amount mind you -- is so freaking good that I almost cannot believe it. The franchise mode has EVERYTHING. The gameplay reminds me of MVP 2005 - that's a GOOD THING.

I already know that this game is going to be the greatest console baseball game I've ever played.

As an aside, the PS3 is FREAKING HOTNESS as well. Why did I wait so long? I always figured I'd own both consoles someday. Man, I don't know how much love my 360 is going to get anymore.

I rule!

Welcome to the "Darkside". The additions to Franchise Mode with Arb, 40 Man rosters, Rule 5 draft is terrific for baseball lovers.

Where can the PS3 be purchased cheapest? Is purchasing online the cheaper route, or are prices pretty much the same everywhere?
