Erie SeaWolves outfielder Casper Wells is feeling right at home in the Eastern League.

The 23-year-old Wells, who was promoted to Erie from the West Michigan WhiteCaps on June 6, was named the league's Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday after a torrid stretch that saw him hit .414 (12-for-29) with five home runs and 11 runs batted in.

The Grand Rapids, Mich., native compiled a 1.069 slugging percentage, collecting two doubles, a triple and three walks while scoring 13 runs and leading the SeaWolves to a 6-1 record.

Wells, a member of the Midwest League All-Star team while playing for West Michigan, had three multiple-hit games last week. He slugged three home runs and drove in five runs in an 11-2 victory against Harrisburg on Aug. 5.

The 6-foot-2, 210-pound Wells is batting .288 with 13 doubles, four triples, 12 home runs, 40 RBIs and 42 runs scored in 56 games with the SeaWolves heading into today's 7:05 p.m. home matchup against New Britain.

Wells was selected by the Detroit Tigers in the 14th round of the 2005 draft out of Towson State University.
