Your favorite beer...

Recommended Posts

It figures you would dislike the best new ad campaign running right now. "You mess with the high life, and the High Life will mess with you."

Actually, their radio commercial bums me out. The one where he disses the guy with the lime in his beer. I've been drinking Miller High Life with a lime in the neck of the bottle since I don't know how long.

You mean a FRUIT LIME??????

My favorite beer is FREE BEER! hahahahahahah!

Actually mine are the following:

Guiness

Molson

RedHook Long Hammer IPA and their Blonde.

Miller Lite

Busch Light

Pike Brewery, I like about all of their beers, with Kilt Lifter being my favorite. I actually spent a good day sampling and resampling their product about two years ago. We drank enough that we couldn't remember where the rental car was. We found it the next afternoon. Oh good times.

Impressive cost, it's about 15 bucks up here. I guess deposit, and maybe some stupid taxes will do that though.
Around $11 an 18 pack in Cen. Fla and we don't have deposits, just taxes.

ever had this?

Goose Island's Root Beer

no carbonation, made with cane sugar-not corn syrup. it's yummy!

you can get it a lot of places, including Costco.

Yup, I greatly enjoy it (when it can be purchased).

Since I don't drink - when ever I go to a brew pub I like to try their micro-brew root beers. Some of them are VERY good and most have little to no carbonation. It is a nice change of pace from A&W and Barqs.

Any beer that requires a slice of fruit for any reason should be disregarded outright. (Yeah, I'm talking to you Blue Moon and **ugh** Corona drinkers; I can't tell if you're obnoxiously pretentious or just a bunch of wusses.) Fruit is only acceptable in a gin and tonic and that's just to identify it as something other a 7-Up or water. (You gotta think about the kids.)

And you cherry-beer drinkers should just give it up, start ordering cranberry-based drinks (you know, for your bladder infections) and go back to sitting down to pee.

What do you drink then?

And I'm not sure any beer requires a slice of fruit.

I was morally opposed to drinking this beer because their commercials with that guy talking like he was choking on a bone, and alluding to the fact that drinking this beer elevates you to an entirely different lifestyle. That being said I was at a part once, ran out of beer, someone said I could have as many of there high lifes as I wanted. After several minutes of debate, I threw out my morals in favor of continuing drinking. I don't think they air those commercials anymore so I have lightened my stance, still have never paid a dime for it though.

Those commercials were awesome! Pure gold!

I guess if you needed a beer commercial to give you a higher purpose in life, then sure they were... no they were just horrible. Every time one of those repulsive commercials came on I wanted to stab myself in the ears with an ice pick.

See, that's where we differ. I need a beer commercial to give me a higher purpose in life and those commercials gave it to me.

I guess so, I only need the beer itself to give me a higher purpose in life.

A nice warm and frothy pint of Adnams would do me - Brewery's 10 minutes down the road... I don't know whether it's made it as far as you are, but it's lovely. Proper beer...

Failing that, there are plenty of nice real ales available here. In fact, I think may need to go open one just now :-)

What do you drink then?

Draft beer. English ales (Newcastle or Bass) and Canadian standards (Molson or Labatt).

Stouts and porters are a bit heavy for my liking. Wheat beers are like chewing through a bowl of cereal. Oberon was higher on my list when it was only a seasonal beer. (Brewing it year round makes it a little less 'special' to me.) The prevalence of microbreweries has allowed me the pleasant hobby of traveling town-to-town in search of the best beer. (I'm still happily looking for that perfect pint.)

But if I'm just swilling cheap beer, I opt for a hometown classic...

Best breakfast beer: Leinenkugel Sunset Wheat (tastes like Blueberry Muffins)

Best "drinking to get drunk": Molson Canadian

Best "just having 1 or 2": Honey Brown

Best "getting drunk at the bar": Bud Light (always the beer of the month it seems)

Best beer to have while in Milwaukee: anything Miller - I prefer the High Life

Best beer to have on St. Patrick's Day: Killians

Best beer to have on May 5th: Corona

Haha whatever is free. It's usually Bud Light. If I go buy beer, I go to that Exxon on Lane and Neil and they don't have much of a selection there.

I'm not much of a fan of Dos Equis. I'll drink it but Corona is always on special on Cinco de Mayo.

I really need to buy more Stroh's, I get em at bars in Detroit from time to time, and love it. I should step it up on the Stroh's front.

I'll keep my eye out for this. Should be readily available since it's just down the road.

You've probably already had it since it's also brewed at Arbor Brewing.

Great Lakes is a good brewery. You just have bad taste in beer. Honey Brown and Killian's making best of anything is plain wrong :silly:
