Your favorite beer...

No matter what this always comes back as my favorite. I bought a case of it and will try to space it out so that I can have a few even during the summer months. What an awesome beer.

To me it's the most balanced flavor of any super hoppy beer I've had. Malty, Sweet, Bitter, Hoppy...all at the same time. If you haven't tried it I HIGHLY recommend finding a 4pak, and if you find it on draft it's even better :) Pretty much only available September and October.

Yes, this is good stuff. Had it at the brewery a few years ago and it was wonderful. It is 4 pack well worth the price of a 6 pack.

Great Lakes is pretty good all around, if you can get past the location.

Honestly, I never get it solely due to the location.

Haha!

Well anyone that has read the Cleveland fans thread in the baseball forum knows I'm a Cleveland guy, so obviously I would have to bring a Cleveland beer into it.

As a brewery I much prefer Bells or New Holland or Founders to Great Lakes...at least on their standard fare. But I LOVE most of the GL seasonals. Lake Erie Monster, Blackout Stout, and Nosferatu are all fabulous beers. The Christmas Ale is INSANELY popular, but not my thing with all the adjuncts.

The only one of their regular rotation that is noteworthy, IMO, is Edmund Fitzgerald Porter...which is probably the best porter I've had.

This is why I made the comment that I did. Shelton just doesn't like humor unless Siri is telling him a joke.

One of my buddies is going crazy trying to find that. Think he's tried three different specialty stores without any luck yet.

The Dogfish Head IPA 120 is what everybody is nuts to find down here. I went all over the county before I finally managed to score some for my nephew's leaving-the-country party.

Is it as good as past years'? I finished one we let apparently go for many months without drinking a month ago, and it was still great. Theirs is the best pumpkin ale I have ever had.

I used to always order a tall Blue Moon when we went out to eat. I've found that lately I've started to enjoy Shock Top a lot more.

A store I've been going to a while finally got comfortable with me I guess because the guy at the counter pulled out some really hard to find beers behind the counter and offered them to me. I had no idea they were even able to get them.

I got all Russian River stuff:

Pliny The Elder | Russian River Brewing Company | Santa Rosa, CA | BeerAdvocate

Beatification | Russian River Brewing Company | Santa Rosa, CA | BeerAdvocate

Sanctification | Russian River Brewing Company | Santa Rosa, CA | BeerAdvocate

So happy!

I was surprised how much I enjoyed Shock Top. Very good and easy to drink.

I alternate between BM and Yuengling, but nothing at all wrong with enjoying Shock Top.

Wish I had know this when I was into Crown.

They don't really work as well as ice wrt to cooling.

That's how I feel about IPAs. I will drink anything you put in front of me but I cannot finish one of this.

I'm with you on this. I tried several, thinking maybe I was missing the right brand but. I have given up and I'll stick with Stella.

My husband has been into the IPAs lately. He usually has some of the Dogfish Head in the fridge, and another by a local microbrewery called Lakewood Brewing.

Other beers getting high rating from the "boys" on Christmas Eve were the Rahr Winter Warmer and Shiner Christmas Cheer.

On another forum I commented on Bud's Black Crown and had to laugh at all the beer snobs who came out to comment. I gladly welcome suggestions to try new things, but don't tell me if I drink beer x I will never drink an A-B product again. Then I address you as the elitist prick you think you are.

I am only a beer elitist when I am paying for them. The best beer will always be someone else's. If I ever get the opportunity to buy you a beer Huey, I'm going to be a huge prick and make sure that you're not drinking garbage. ;-)
