Live 2006 Adopt-A-Tiger draft position Lottery!!!

Recommended Posts

*A note on the draft*

The draft will begin late morning tomorrow - Wednesday the 25th - probably around 11am give or take. Huey will be around to make the first selection. I thought about opening it up as early as tonight, but then realized that I indicated in the sign-up thread that the lottery would be today and the draft on Wednesday and I want to remain consistant.

This will allow everybody who is participating to digest the lottery and what it means to them and their potential selections. This will also allow the top of the draft to prepare draft boards and lock themselves in their war rooms all night to plan for the draft.

And Yes, that last paragraph was done tongue-in-cheek.

#49-potthole

Hey, I might be able to get myself a AAA player that actually has a shot at playing on the Big Team at some point this season!

Damn....good thing I didn't plan on picking a prominent player....

Me too. I planned on taking a prospect no matter where I picked.

Clete Thomas is as good as mine.

Clete isn't likely to fall that far.

Hell, I don't even plan on picking a prominent prospect :)

I haven't really decided either way other than the fact that I am taking a prospect. It could be a prominent prospect and it could be an obscure one. I took Granderson last season.... I am not sure who I will take this time.

Wow, who to pick at 16. I have a real shot at an impact player.

Maybe I will go with Granderson (probably top 10 though)

Hmmm, the choices........

And I'm truly undecided. Being a minor leaguer with a shot at the top of the lineup; do I go with an invitee, a possible starter or one of my favorite MiLers?

Let me know if somebody has already been awarded a spot because Zach almost got a second pick...

24th pick goes to -

Windsor's own tramlou

Not bad!! I'll take it :classic:

Also want to throw out a thanks to Shaggy for setting all this up...great work man!!

Thats cool, who would that be.
We actually have several players and/or family that check in. If you follow Clete's threads, you can figure it out. Hate to pinpoint posters myself. Surprised I haven't seen a relative (that I know of) join in on the draft.

Is Matt Righter still with the organization? If so, I don't see him lasting past the 81rst pick. Score!

Think he had Tommy John surgery last year, after Sleeth did. He probably won't be pitching until late-summer.

I'm here..........dreg2003, I'm the family...........

He should be gone by my draft spot (94), not necessary to get him as it would be fun for someone else to get him, I'll be happy to draft someone else !! Plenty to pick from !

It's all good, I'm exited to see whos left on my pick. It will be fun to research the player I get, becuase odds are the player I draft will be someone that I know very little about.

I am gonna have a long wait for #88.

How will I keep up with who is still available?

First place you'll want to go for a good list of Tigers is Edman's most excellent roster thread: http://www.motownsports.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32160 (I count 170 players listed there)

My plan is to take the following list (I borrowed liberally from fellow posters to assemble this), then copy and paste it into Word, WordPad, or NotePad. I, too, thank you Shaggy for organizing this. Hmmm, 61, I think I will wait until I see what is left when it is closer to my turn. I am kind of leaning toward picking someone that will likely be in WM. It will make researching and sending reports on him a lot more fun (easier too). I will even be able to post current pics (not all baseball action perhaps :cheeky: ) so you will feel like you are right at the ball park with him. Don't know yet though. Have to see who is available when it comes to my turn. I suppose there is no way that Kevin Whelan or Joel Zumaya will still be available. I am sure that you are all going to save me Cameron Maybin so I can give live updates since he may be in WM, right?????
