the pistons should win at least 50 games with if they get at least average bench play from barry, rebraca, and williamson and ofcourse atkins. hubert davis might see 10 minutes a night if hes lucky, and he can shoot with the best of them, so watch out.

Don't forget Mehmet Okur. Hell, the way people are talking about him he could very well start in your Williamson/Curry spot.

Michael Curry played one good game last season and that was Game 1 against Boston when he scored 15 points and shut down Paul Pierce. Not enough to justify a starting position. I'd like to see Okur or Corliss in that three spot with Curry occupying the ninth or tenth spot in the rotation as a defensive specialist.

C Cliff Robinson

PF Ben Wallace

SF Corliss Williamson

SG Richard Hamilton

PG Chauncey Billups

Bench(in order of playing time)

Jon Barry

Chucky Atkins

Zeljko Rebraca

Mehmet Okur

Rodney White

Michael Curry

Hubert Davis

I expect Barry to play as much as a starter, with Barry, Atkins, Billups, Hamilton getting the majority of guard play. Davis will be there in obvious 3 point shooting situations and in case of injury.

Williamson deserves to start, but could continue in last seasons role, but I just dont see Curry starting with so much talent in front of him. Rebraca is the main back up big man, which is the weakness of the team. I think they need to find another big body to come off the bench. Of course, if Rodney White put on some pounds it could be him. the role of Tashuan Prince will depend on if he is any good. Basically, if he is he will play ahead of Davis and Curry, if not he may not dress for many games. Okur could be good, but he hasnt played yet, so dont get any high expectations.

i really dont see the big deal in okur, he was like the 40th pick of the draft so he ca nt be that great... i dont see him playing in a lot of games and if he does he will probably stink. white will definitley get more minutes though

Most analysts say Okur would have been a lottery pick had he gone in this year's draft. Dumars was smart taking him in the second round, a year before he said he wanted to play in the U.S.

Okur could be like Turkoglu of Sacramento. the pistons considered taking him, but the Kings were smart to get him. At #40, this could be the steal of the draft. If he sucks, then it doesnt matter anyway.

ya it would be nice to see prince get some minutes. last year way before the draft i saw tayshuan prince play in a couple of college games ( i watched like 4 college games total i dont watch college much) and i saw princes play, and i was freekin amazed. he immediatley became my favorite college player. i thought he was gonna be drafted in like the top 5 cause i know jack about college, but oddly enough the pistons drafted him. but i dont see him getting a lot of minutes because of the fact that hes a rookie.

I thought I mentioned Prince briefly. Anyway, he has the talent to get a few minutes maybe, but he has to crack a guard rotation that includes Barry, Atkins, Billups, Hamilton, then forwards White, Williamson, Okur, Curry, and possibly Hubert Davis who can shoot the lights out. It will be tough so they may just decide to sit him like they did with Rodney White last year. If he performs good enough though then he has earned the spot.

Prince is definitely in our future plans. I agree with Randy, he won't see much time this year unless he forces the Pistons hand by impressive play. Even if he plays average to above average he will still see enough minutes to benefit us in the future. I believe that Joe D is making plans for a 2004 run at the title and hopes this years team can play impressive enough to draw any major free agent's next summer!! Either way, the Pistons have a bright future!

Joe D's experience as Pistons' President shows what happens you wrestle power away from an incompetent - Tom Wilson - and give it to a smart and well-respected individual. Given how Joe D. - with some help from Grant Hill to swing the sign-and-trade that got us Ben and Chucky - pulled this team from the brink of disaster is inspirational. I'm also very psyched about the Pistons' future.

Remember, the reason Curry started was because he set a defensive tone and allowed Corliss to bring some scoring punch off the bench. It looks like they won't need scoring punch off the bench with the group they have now, so it will be about defense. One of the reasons that the Pistons were so good last year was because their bench, about as good as their starters, was better than anyone elses bench. The starters didn't blow anybody away. That looks to continue.
