Sanchez cashes in on success at Worlds

It appears the Detroit Piston have been impressed by Argentina point guard Pepe Sanchez's performance at the World Championships.

The Pistons signed Sanchez to a two-year deal Wednesday, ESPN.com's Chad Ford has learned. The Pistons have a team option after the first year.

Sanchez, the first NBA signing out of the Worlds, played for the Philadelphia 76ers during the 2000-01 season before going to Europe.
