44 games to go.

Pistons should trade Ellington and get a second rounder. That would mean their own first and 3 second rounders in this upcoming draft, unless they get a future second for Ellington.

The Nuggets have formed a partnership with the Grand Rapids Drive.  Sounds like they will start next season.

Phoenix and Portland are the last two teams without a G-League team.

Bam and Butler had triple doubles last night.

That is the 13th time in league history that teammates have had a triple double in the same game.  Bam and Butler have now done it twice, making them the only one on that list to do it twice.

I heard the radio guys the other day pushing the idea of widening the court a few feet - interesting just from the standpoint that people are starting to talk more about the game needing a tweak. It would mess up all the scoring records, but I've thought about adding another line to the court - day at ~15 ft. Make the current 3 a 4 and make the 3 line the 15 ft line. Officiating shots would he harder but it might bring more of the court back into play. Maybe you still have to widen the court to drive the 3 percentage down. I would think you want to make the point value anywhere on the court a closer match to the average shooting percentage there? When the 3 came in and 30% was considered a good % from there it didn't kill the rest of the game. Not so much with guys hitting 40 to even 50% from beyond the arc!

Final voting results.  Top 3 front court and top 2 guards are the starters.

With guys like Harden and Durant coming East along with guys like Tatum and Embiid taking big steps forward the East's All Stars suddenly don't look that bad.

So that's why the Knicks were so willing to let Dennis Smith leave...

Sekou with a solid 6 minutes in the early 4th.  Come on Casey.

Grant with just a bit of a come down after the Bulls game.

Good loss.

I turned on the game in the 4th and I saw Sekou do perhaps the best take I seen him do in over a year, then he followed it up with a 3.  I got excited that maybe he had a break out game, only to check the box score and see those were his first points of the night.

What's gotten into Embiid this season? I guess he must really love Doc Rivers

His shot selection has improved a ton.

I don't think Doumbouya is long for the team.  That's not say he doesn't have a future in the league.  I suspect he's on Casey's naughty list and Weaver clearly doesn't have much attachment to any holdovers from before he took the job.

I actually think the opposite.

I think he was getting tough love previously; and I'm not counting this game. This game was simply kid gloves (IMO) as he was getting back from concussion protocol. But I thought he had started to play better in the games prior to CP than how he started the season out.

I guess the next 30-40 games we'll see what the Pistons REALLY think of Sekou... But I'm thinking he still has a chance to stick, and I believe that will be born out in increased playing time, etc. I mean, he's still only 20 so I can't see the Pistons just giving up on him yet... so, we'll see...

Sam Vecenie is ranking teams based on their young talent potential.  The Pistons rank 19th.  How you can lose for a decade and still only rank 19th in youth potential.  Well, I guess that is exactly how you lose for a decade.

They did move up from 23rd last year.  But one would expect to move up more than 4 spots in a year you have 3 first round picks.

For Grant, that Bulls game is sandwiched between a stretch of games where he is finishing with poor field goal percentages.  Seems to me that teams are adjusting and putting a lot of focus on him.  He's not a guy that gets his own shot or creates for others with ease.  He's a very good player but I would be surprised if he can maintain his current shooting percentages with what is being asked of him.

Oh, I don't think yesterday was the definition of what I think his future is(n't) with the Pistons.  I understand taking it easy on a player coming back from concussion protocol.

The next 30-40 games might be telling, but why woudn't he have been playing more during the first half of this season?  Tough love?  Griffin?  Meh, I don't know.

I feel like Isaiah Stewart is often so close to making a play on defense and the other team just always finds a way to get a basket over or around him somehow.  His age and wingspan give me hope for the future though.
