Yes, because who in this country would want to watch a game the Tigers are playing in if they're not playing the Yankees?

Don't hate the playa, hate the game.

BST, you made me remember a question.  Is the UK going to retain any semblance of EU privacy laws?

At present, yes. No idea what the cockwomble supremes intend to do in the future, but given that that sort of thing is becoming more and more common, I don't think it makes a lot of difference, I assume you're talking about GDPR sort of stuff btw?

Sorry, I missed the question as I was watching a live stream of a welsh comedian and some other people. As you do.

Yep, I wish we had GDPR here.  But, alas we have billions of dollars of industry based around robbing people of their PII.

Did someone do the "this team is better than you think?" post?

No, so thanks for that.  They're more fun to watch too.

The Tigers are going to work on fundamentals this Spring.  You are going to see them put pressure on opponents this year with their aggressive baserunning and defense.

Actually I thought they ran the bases more aggressively last season than they had in a while. If you want aggressive base running generally the trick is to put a young team on the field, which the Tigers are going to do. For as much as coaches talk the game on defense,  I think if you want defense you better be willing to draft for it over a number of years because not too many guys who are not good defenders when they reach pro ball get much better - other than relatively 'simple' stuff like teaching W. Castro to stay centered on his catches so can stay balanced on his throws.

I do wonder if Cabrera is going to have any fielding chops left. He was a good 1B once, but hadn't been when he last played there.

It would certainly be nice if he could play the field a bit, but you have to wonder if at this point it’s just best to save his legs by keeping him at DH.  I’d guess they try it out a bit in the spring and evaluate the situation.  Can’t blame them, it’s a new on field staff, let them see what they have and maybe they have ideas as far as what they could try.

I though the combination of GDPR and whatever the California law actually does had put some pressure on organisations to be a little more restrictive in what they did? Certainly there are sites that I use that have rolled out the sorts of conditions (right to be forgotten etc...) to everyone.

Use a VPN and pretend to be from France. You'll also find it easier to locate edible cheese.

This is getting way too personal.
