Usually when Shams starts talking compensation it means the deal is minutes from happening.

I like it.  Another flyer on a down and out player who once showed some promise.

Look, DSJ sucks but at least he has shown a season or two where he could score.  Needs to play better defense and improve that three pointer a bit.  But he has shown stuff in actual games.

Ntilikina has pretty much always sucked and has shown almost nothing for 4 years.

ntlikina plays defense, unlike smith.

thibs probably couldnt wait to get smith out of town.  i mean, we all know drose doesnt play defense but he played for thibs before and is therefore golden.

I imagine he wanted both out of town.  Neither one is in the rotation or even close to it.  Ntilikina was hurt but he has been healthy for a couple of weeks now and is still getting DNP-CD.

I only care about the draft compensation. Give back the Detroit 2nd back and I'm happy. Flip DSJ for another 2nd at the deadline if he shows well in the next month.

The Detroit 2nd is not useless, it's just about a late 1st. Were you expecting a 1st for Rose the way he was playing this season? It would suck if it was only the Charlotte 2nd, the Knicks should pony up for the Pistons taking DSJ off their hands.

Useless.

For as often as they hit it is pointless worrying about trading away 4 of them or getting one back.

And Rose was never returning a 1st round pick.  He had a really good season in Minnesota and signed for less than the MLE in Detroit.  That means every single team in the league could have signed him and nobody did.  They weren't all of a sudden giving up a first for him when they could have signed him outright in the summer.

The difference between the Clippers 1st, for example, and the Pistons 2nd is like 3-4 picks. Would you have been content with the Clippers 1st for Rose?

If the 2nds are useless and you don't think Rose is worth a 1st, what would be an acceptable return in your mind?

So a reclamation project and a mystery 2nd rounder.

I guess we'll just have to live with that... Rose was worthless to us anyways...

I'll give Casey-Smith a chance at redemption... let's see what happens.

But no D and no 3-pt shot is a crappy place to start...

I'm not complaining about the value returned.  Rose sucks.  He isn't worth anything and I'm amazed they got this back to be honest.  Even if you somehow like him, he is more likely to show up on your injury report than he is on your playoff roster.  Teams are not giving up strong assets for that type of player.

I was making fun of the people worrying about what pick is coming back to us.  Who cares.  Give me any second rounder and call it a day.  Blindfold a monkey and let him use the pick and you probably do just as good as most GMs do in the second round.

Steve Nash could hold him to single digits at this point.

The Nets are a bad team.

I realize KD is out but Harden and Kyrie should be plenty to smoke Detroit.

I turned on a Pistons-Clippers game way back when.  Mark Aguirre and Bill Laimbeer were guarding each other.  Pretty sure the Clips had a big that could have matched up with Laimbeer.  This was obviously the downside of each players' career, and I kind of blanked out on the actual game while trying to figure out to which player this strategy was more demeaning.

Actually, it was this game in mid November.  Laimbeer retired at the end of the month.

Always fun to watch a Harden team get beat.  Even better when Kyrie is on that team.

Blake was absolute garbage, but Grant, Wright, and Jackson were good once again.  Bey was huge in the 4th quarter and didn't miss a shot.  Hopefully he can keep it going this time.

We all knew it would happen with the roster Weaver built, but I really like how disruptive this team can be on defense with their length.  Pretty sure they lead the league in forced turnovers.

Oh, and Klay was right about McGruder.  It wasn't the right thing to say out loud, but it was true.  I expect Smith Jr will get those minutes very soon.  Not sure what that means for Saben Lee, who ran the offense better than McGruder, but still seems afraid to shoot.

I'm just not a buyer of Josh Jackson long term.  He's hot right now but I would shop him at the deadline this year given we signed him to a two year deal.

I am however a huge buyer of Saddiq Bey.  I'd like to see him playing 30 minutes a game or more to fast track his development.
