Pistons up 9 after 1.  I can’t get over how bad nba refs are.  I’ll never complain about nfl or nhl refs again.   There is no recognition of the flow of the game by officials.  They miss obvious calls and call the questionable ones.  Figure it out Silver.

I will be content with the season if Jackson continues to show he is a keeper and they end up top 3 in the lottery.  Tonight was good for both.

Even better, the Bulls held a furious 4th quarter rally to trim their loss to Atlanta down to 20!

Coby White looked terrible.  Wendell Carter?  Awful.  Otto Porter?  Fat and overpaid.  Markannen?  Soft and unathletic.

Of course, this just means the league will gift them the #1 pick again.

Crazy ending in the Nuggets-Kings game.  Haliburton looked good, had a few big shots in the 4th.  And that chase down by Fox.  Wow.

Jackson looked good again.  Plumlee did what he does, with a quiet 14, 8, and 6.

Hayes looked tentative again.  There's still nobody on this team that wants to (or is able to) drive to the bucket and collapse the defense outside of Rose.

Blake starting to remind me of Tay in his latter years when every time someone passed him the ball he'd pump fake (even though he was open) and then dribble into a worse version of the shot he could have taken initially.

Casey making me angry already:

--Took out Hayes out after a couple of mistakes in the 4th.  Kid only played 21 minutes.  He was clearly more concerned about winning the game and stuck his vets back in.  Blake played 35 minutes...

--No Bey sighting at all

--Sekou only played 13 minutes (and got 9 rebounds in that time!)

--Let's not even talk about his play-calling out of timeouts

Rare opportunity for me to see the Pistons live, via the free league pass trial. The broadcast was like a strange internet feed from Australia or something. Glitchy and grainy, kind of funny but hard to focus.

Jackson was the only strong positive I got from that game.  Hoping they find some way to get Bey/Stewart in there but the path is clogged. The offseason flurry of moves got me excited just for the activity but the reality of strange roster construction showed last night. Odd to trade back into the first round twice, but then sign vets to eat the minutes of those guys (and Sekou's).

I think White is going to be fine, though he's probably out of position at PG. Patrick Williams looks like the real deal +++.  

Had Williams lasted till #7 for the Pistons, it's interesting to think how that would have changed their course in the rest of the draft and offseason.

that's what worried me about casey too.  you could see it in the last preseason game when they went for the win by playing vets.  in a preseason game!

he's going to ride blake and rose for 35 minutes a game every night until they break down.

why okafor for 20 minutes instead of a few minutes for stewart?  

grant started out hot and then petered out.

i thought hayes looked like a rookie in his first game.  check out lamelo's stats in charlotte from last night...
