Lions @ Bears: The Bevell Era begins

Recommended Posts

This will be the first Lions game in a couple of months that has me interested.   I think Matt Patricia was a HORRIBLE coach.  I think he may be one of the 5 worst coaches in NFL history.   Rarely made the right adjustments (if adjusting at all).  His defense was predictable and stale.  He did too much of this Smartest Guy In The Room crap.    It will be interesting to see, now that they are free of his influence, how that defense plays.   I do not believe Cory Undlin had any say in the scheme, only the play calling and was probably very limited at that.   This is a chance for him to audition for a DC job somewhere  too.    Even if Bevell went 5-0, he wouldn't be promised the job - that is totally up to the new GM (at least we hope so), but it will be interesting to see how this team plays now that they are free and can just play again.

I think he was EXTREMELY predictable and rarely made adjustments.  That being said I am not sure if any of that will matter much.

Whatever SOL would do when it comes to coach/scheme etc...just do the opposite and let us see what that looks like.

There were players that were Matt Patricia guys      And Matt Patricia is gone.   Marvin may have been one of those guys that could be released without hurting the cap.

You wait until the off season and let the new GM and new coach replace or keep players. The Lions are thin at WR and there has to be a reason we're not being told about this move. Otherwise, it just doesn't make sense.

golladay, okudah, smith, and hand all out.

bears with no significant injuries.  hicks is back.

we'll see what bevell can dial up to score today.  if the lions are going to stick to man defense with no secondary, they're gonna get beat by mitchell "biscuit" trubisky again.

yes, his nickname is biscuit.

Nice the see the Lions focus on getting the ball into the hands of their best player.  Let’s get Agnew 30 touches.

Yeah I thought  he was gonna get the first down easily then for some reason he just cut right to where the defender was.

"for some reason" is because he is not good at football.

and remember, quinn drafted a guy this year in the 5th round to take his place, and then cut him because he wasnt as good as agnew.

Because instead of just getting the first down he wanted to make a big big play.   Like Germaine Crowell against the Vikings trying to make a big play instead of going out of bounds and stopping the clock.   DUMB FOOTBALL.

But Quinn watched a lot of tape on that 5th round guy.   More than any other player since Teez

lol.

you guys know that the bears are one of the bottom three offenses in the league?  the bears oline is the worst in the league.  going through the lions like nothing.

the lions have no talent on defense.  patricia or no patricia.

they have to blitz at some point.  he's got all day to throw.  any qb can look great with that happening.

Keep bevell as head coach eh?  The defense is worse than ever.  The team looks awful.

I don't think you can fully blame him. But I am glad that talks of keeping him should quiet down real quick.
