But it would be a VAST improvement over Matt Patricia, who I think may be one of the worst 5 Head Coaches in the history of the league.  I still have no idea what he was trying to accomplish with the defense and hand-picked personnel he had for it.

almost anyone would be a vast improvement over matt patricia.

TV coverage keeps talking up Trubiski but he beat Jacksonville, Minnesota, and Houston sandwiched by loses to the Lions and Green Bay twice.

Watching the Saints/Bears on Nickelodeon right now and it's actually pretty cool, they got more kid/nick themed graphics(they call the end zone the "slime zone" and have cgi slime shoot out when teams score) and the announcers are dumbing things down and explaining stuff/rules in more detail than they otherwise would.  Nate Burleson is doing the color work and he's really good, I'm surprised he doesn't do work for CBS or Fox cause I think he's better than most of the analysts you hear.

Mahomes may have an MVP but Trubisky just trumped him by winning the Nickelodeon NVP award today..despite his team losing 21-9.

Browns up 28-0 on the Steelers and were still in the 1st quarter.    Bills won their first playoff game in 25 years yesterday and now the Browns look to be on their way to their first win in 27 years.    BTW the Browns only practiced once all week due to COVID issues so perhaps the key to playing great on Sundays is to practice less during the week.

The Browns will officially be a better team and franchise than the Lions if they win. We will offically get the title of WORST FRANCHISE IN THE NFL after if and when the Browns win this. LOL!

They are zooming past us and Jax.  They probably moved ahead of Chargers, Jets, and Cardinals.

Edit: This could end up being the Cleveland Collapse. It would be so fitting and just an NFL storyline if there ever was one to watch the Steelers come back and win this. In the NFL the rich always seem to get richer.

I bet Nate is quite happy going on TV every morning for a few hours and not having to travel.

the browns were an earnest byner goal line fumble away from the super bowl, the lions have never been close to a super bowl.

The Athletic had a couple of articles from scouts on the talent rankings in the NFC and it was brutal for the Lions. They broke it down by position and on defense the Lions were last at almost everything. A couple of comments:

Flowers - good effort guy, overpaid

Tavia - Can't move, slow

Okudah - had NO idea what he was doing, OSU corners are like that, has talent though

Jones - 2 down run defender, slow

Harmon - decent centerfielder, doesn't like to mix it up in run game

Collins - slowing down, effort is inconsistent

Walker -  slipped last year, not a centerfielder

The offense wasn't much better. I beginning to think they should just trade Stafford and start over, which will mean a couple of more 3-5 win seasons.

I think the offensive talent is fine with swift, Golladay and hockenson. Line was fine.  Stafford is still a gunslinger and good NFL QB. Add in a WR from the first round and they will be able to score.

But yeah. The defense...it’s bad. At what point this week will the lions name a GM/Coach.  Two more coaching interviews today and tomorrow.  Hopefully that wraps it up and we get someone hired.

ED DODDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Truthfully, I don't know Dodds from Adam. I just like that he's had success at multiple places and took a dreadful Indianapolis roster, one of the worst in the league in the wake of Ryan Grigson and Chuck Pagano, and made it one of the best. The Colts are a QB away from being elite. Wonder who has a good QB they could go after?

What's funny is literally everyone who was in Seattle in 2012 claims to be behind the drafting of Russell Wilson.

Why are we giving credit to Dodds and not the actual GM of the Colts? Was Dodds behind the hiring of Josh McDaniels?

Not only that, he was at least partially responsible for the drafting of Russell Wilson and The Legion of Boom. This guy is the most qualified candidate so needless to say, I'm right there with you on the Dodds Train.

Whether he wants the Lions job is another story but I'm glad to see that they are interviewing him at least. This is why I want them to take time with the process. They're covering all bases it looks like.

I was a junior in high school at the time, but true story - they called me. I was the one who made the call to draft Wilson.
