The majority of fans spelled it Coyler.

sports need more personalities like Bauer.  He's kind of a knucklehead, but I like that he doesn't have a filter and calls out the "establishment."  Would love to have him in Detroit.

I would like to see him pitch for the Tigers too, but it looks as if he has other ideas!

He's doing some interesting self marketing. Probably wants Cole money but with covid I doubt he gets it. Maybe not anything close

besides COVID-related cost concerns, I wonder how many teams would be scared off from his "wild card" personality.

Yes he is doing some interesting marketing.  Can't blame him for trying to increase his market.

Although he has stated previously that he would prefer to go with one year deals.  I think that is hogwash, but let's see if he follows through on that.

Could not agree more. To Casimer’s point, I don’t know that he’d take a one year deal or not. If he would, I’d think it would be a great move for Detroit. The fans would love it. A one year commitment for a top of the line pitcher isn’t out of line in the forever rebuild.

If Bauer does go the one year route, it'll be fun seeing him pitch for the Dodgers then the Giants, then the Yankees then the Red Sox, then the Cubs then the Cardinals, then the Pirates then the Tigers.

As trading season gets closer what does everybody think about a Matthew Boyd for Gary Sanchez trade ?  Both are slumping and make about the same $$.

The Yankees would love him in that band box.

https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/ha-seong-kim-top-ranked-player-in-korea-to-be-posted-after-season/

The top player in the Korea Baseball Organization will soon be available to major league clubs.

Kiwoom Heroes shortstop Ha-Seong Kim, who ranked as the No. 1 prospect in the KBO in May, will be posted after the season, according to Steve Adams of MLB Trade Rumors. Kim, who is in his seventh KBO season and turns 25 next week, will be exempt from the international bonus pools, meaning he can sign a major league contract without restrictions. A righthanded hitter, Kim ranks ninth in the league in OBP and 11th in slugging, batting .310/.401/.531 with 28 home runs, 69 walks, 60 strikeouts and 21 stolen bases in 22 attempts through 576 plate appearances.

Interesting--most of the big spending teams already have an elite SS.

I think Al wants to give Willi a shot, but I'd love for them to start adding pieces now

Same but you can never have enough great players especially up the middle.  Don't know much about this guy but if he is indeed a legit premium prospect there is no reason for the Tigers not to throw some money in especially considering their current payroll situation.

It might be a good idea to see if they can get a sure thing in next year's great free agent class of shortstops rather than roll the dice with an international player.  It depends on their budget though.  If they are not planning to spend big on elite players, then taking a chance on a less expensive player with a big upside might be the way to go.

Yeah I wouldn't spend a fortune and I really have no comps that I can think of to compare him to in order to get an estimate of what it would take.   But say he could be had for like 5/30-40( have no idea if that's what the market bearers just spit balling) I'd sign if they did believe he could be legit.

They could still sign a premium guy next year and just move him somewhere what else.

Btw add Whitey Ford to the list of Hall of Fame deaths this year joining Kaline, Seaver, Brock and Gibson.   Just a terrible year.

Just the type of opportunity we should pounce on.

Thats a really good point. That plus this past low revenue year might present a discount as well.
