He looked like that as a kid.

I bet it's even bigger now.

If the Tigers win today the gay Teletubby will have to appear in every game thread until they lose.

I think @Biff Mayhem is a little busy these days.

Placido got off easy. When I was a kid a new kid moved to town and one of his eyes was perceptibly lower on his face than the other. During something in school he told the story about how his head had been run over by a tractor.

One day when he was at my house his mom and pre-school brothers and sisters showed up in a station wagon to take him home and they all possessed the same anomaly. I felt bad that it was something he had to make up stories about and I never told anyone else at school about it which demonstrates I’m not evil.

Ronaldo Lopez is not a good pitcher. If the Tigers can’t hit him, well what are you gonna do.

Devastating missed strike call there.  Instead of an inning ending strike em out throw em out, it's called a ball and the White Sox have 2 men on with only 1 out.

yeah - ump is questionable. I thought the pitch Candy walked on was a strike as well.

Fulmers slider not breaking sharp enough to fool anyone. Sox RH batters are just looking for it and hitting it to right.

Yeah, hard to watch Fulmer right now.  Not ready to write off his career, but this season is lost for him.

Hardly anybody on the Tigers staff has good command of the top of the strike zone with their fastball.  They almost always either throw it too low so it ends up in the batters sweet spot or too high where they won't swing.

Conversely, our young hitters can’t lay off a high strike.

Speaking of command, Pipeline was talking to somebody in Cleveland's organization and they asked him how they always seem to have great pitching and he said that the thing they target when drafting or acquiring guys is their command.   They feel that it is easier to coach up stuff than it is command which goes against conventional wisdom.  Their strategy has certainly worked for them.

Yes Fulmer didn’t respond well. But the persistent inadmissibility of an umpire-judged strike zone and the frustration attendant to it is so clear game after game that if this is something you can fix you should. I really hope MLB puts an end to it soon.

I don’t know how contractual relations to umpires will play out in relation to this and I’m on the side of labor before I am on the side of the bosses, but it’s really frustrating to witness the distortions that occur because of this.

I think that is because few on the staff throw a really high spin rate 4 seamer. Skubal's isn't bad and Norris' used to be good but it's not what it was when he came over from Toronto. Most of this staff is lucky to get 5-6 inches of vertical break on the their 4 seam fastballs compared to 10 or more for a pitcher that uses the 4 seamer up with more success.

And Fulmer had a flat 4 seam  FB even before all the injuries.
