Default Tiger Stadium final game roster.

Does anyone have a roster from the final game at Tiger Stadium when each player donned a different number honoring a former Tiger great ? Thanks.

I found them in this book, Detroit Tigers Lists and More: Runs, Hits, and Eras by Mark Pattison and David Raglin.

You can view it here: Detroit Tigers Lists and More: Runs, Hits, and Eras - Mark Pattison, David Raglin - Google Books

Final game numbers are on pg. 180, 182-183.

Without looking lets see if I can remember.

    1b - Tony Clark (Hank Greenberg's #5)
    2b - Damien Easley (Charlie Gehringer's #2)
    3b -
    SS - Deivi Cruz (Alan Trammell's #3)
    RF - Karim Garcia (Al Kaline's #6)
CF - Gabe Kapler (Ty Cobb no number)
    LF - Luis Polonia (Willie Horton's #23)
    DH - Robert Fick (Norm Cash's #25)

Can't remember who started, but they were wearing #47 and who played third #21 (was it Gabe Alvarez?).

Wow, Dean Palmer. Forgot he was with them. And Moehler started. There was no catcher in that game, they just kept hitting the umpire with the ball.

That final game lineup gives me goosebumps.....the kind you get from an allergic reaction or a bad insect bite.

Son, if I'd only gotten to be a doctor for five minutes... now that would have been a tragedy.
