Keep winning 8 of every 9 and the White Sox will finish about 20 games behind us.

Verlander being Verlander. This is what we have come to expect. Good day of baseball, if the tigers continue to play like this there will be no reason to worry about the sox. The first 12 games of the season and the past 8 are the best they have played this year.
Although, Don Kelly has no business on a baseball diamond.

Looks like I missed a great game... was out in Springfield with family. It's a nice thing to come home to, though. :)
This spot, and a place in my heart, is reserved for TC.

Time for Cabrera to start getting some MVP love again. His numbers are slowly climbing after a slow start. I think Trout and Hamilton are media favorites right now but Cabrera is hot and at some point, people are going to have to take notice.
If Trout keeps the pace he is at, he is going to win the MVP. I think he has a lot of sentimental value (20 year old rookie in a big market) going for him right now. And the numbers he is putting up warrant the consideration.

I'm just glad the ASG really was just a throw-away for him and his post game explanations were not just cover. OTOH, I guess the AL players on the team that goes to the WS could reasonably have a complaint about his attitude toward the game, especially if it could be construed that it cost them HFA in the Series - but then again, having been SO, the rest of the Al can't blame JV all that much.

It would be hilarious if Oakland, Anaheim and Texas all got in the playoffs this fall.

Right now I'd say the NL is in a 3-way race, with Votto, McCutchen and Wright, with the leader being McCutchen. In the AL I think it's a race between Trout and Hamilton, with Cano and Cabrera a ways back. Ortiz could make a little noise too if Boston were to make a strung push.

Mike Trout is the best because he has a nickname that was made up on an internet forum, put into Wikipedia with empty sources, used by news organizations referencing those sources, had the sources changed to reference the articles that originally referenced them, and is now in general use including being on his B-R page.
So therefore, he should win the MVP over anyone.Kobernoooooous

My sons and I were at the game...loved Camden Yards, 1st visit...sat 5 rows behind home plate...watching Verlander was great from there...Cabrera's shot was epic. It was unbelievably hot, most of our area was empty while people sought shade..but we toughed it out.
I love Cabrera's personality, he's always joking around and having fun...he was gently making fun of Ayala being fat...really seems like a good guy....his dive at 3rd (failed) was a nice effort but a pretty lolarious fail..he even made fun of himself looking for a hole in his glove afterwards.
The Tiger fans were out in force again, we're 2-0 on our Tiger road trip, the other vicotry at the great Wrigley takeover (also with Verlander) on June 14.
I really liked our defensive lineup...good fundamentals generally.Introibo ad altare Dei

We were there Saturday and Sunday. We sat in section 24 which would have been to your right, directly above the O's dugout. You're so right about the Tiger fans being out in force. I've attended a number of Tiger road games over the years and this is one of the biggest turnouts I've seen in an opponents park. Several O's fans were asking themselves out loud where all the Detroit fans came from.
