The sad part about it is that he doesn't even try to improve by becoming a little more patient. He has a lot more natural hitting ability than most players but it is such a waste because he swings early and often every at-bat.

That's the maddening part about Delmon. If he had any plate discipline, he would be a .300 hitter. Why any pitcher would throw Delmon a strike is beyond me.

Matt Young has had 7 at bats. Danny Worth's track record of striking out a ton, hitting for no power, and not getting on base covers his entire career at every level of baseball.

Worth hasn't shown any power historically, but I do see an upward trend last couple of years - well at AAA anyway.

Young: .285 .390 .380 516 walks 454 strikeouts

Neither has power, they both strike out too much, but at least Young has one marketable skill, and it's the most important one in baseball. The ability to reach base.
