Don Demeter...the guy that the Tigers acquired in one of the worst if not the worst trade in relatively (if your old like me) recent memory, but who was also traded away in one of the Tigers best trades. Campbell did a nice job when he peddled him to the Red Sox for Pitcher Earl Wilson, who BTW, was a better hitter than some of the Tigers players today.

Granted, they just called him up this morning, but they call up Santos with the reasoning to make sure to give Avila plenty of rest, or real days off, whatever it is, but not only is he in the lineup tonight, but he's also behind the plate. Sometimes, I just don't get things...

They called up a third catcher so that a career .662 OPS hitter can DH. I love this team. Even against LHP he's only .734

At a quick first glance I thought you just put the lineup in alphabetical order then I noticed Young 5th and Santiago and Santos are flipped. But it's close.

Completely unintentional, but that did work out pretty well. Not a surprise Delmon would ruin everything again though.

Yea I know and knew it when I wrote it. It was in reference to the final two games. Ive been trying to keep a balance this year but sometimes if I dont release the pent up frustration Im afraid my head will explode. And this morning I was feeling particularly down on this team. Reading that Fister is again on the DL and they called up a third catcher (?????????) and the greatest defenseman in the history of hockey will retire Im even more down on them.So now that simple sentiment refers to the rest of the season.

Sorry everybody. This feels like a game where the Tigers will get out to a big early lead and then gradually give it away, culminating with a Valverde blown save/walk off. Hope I'm wrong.

If Laird is playing then he should be catching and let Avilia rest. Isnt that why we got Laird? To rest Avila. And if Young is going to play LF then this is the best park to do so.
