Don't know if I can stay up 3 nights in a row. Get the W and it will be back to back series wins, a little consistency is all we are asking for.

Petered out last night around the 6th inning. Going to see Avengers tonight after work. Should get home in time to see a few innings. Come on boys...lets get this thing rolling. A nice 5-6 game winning streak mixed with 3-4 solid multiple hit games for Boesch and I will be a happy man.

I know I say this every time the Tigers are on the coast, but I LOVE the late night games. I have to be at work at about 10 a.m. most weekdays, sometimes a half-hour earlier, but having a game completed at 1 a.m. is no big deal to me. I'm usually up until 4 a.m. And if I'm not up until then, it's me forcing myself to bed earlier. I find it really easy to do my projects from 1 a.m. to about 4 a.m. So much so it's really easy for me to say up much later. Call me at 2 a.m. and I'll answer the phone.

I had to be up for work at 4 and have to be up at 5 tomorrow. These west coast trips are rough with my current job!

When I was in college I loved the 10 pm games, head to the pub and sit around and then skip the 8 am class. I still manage to get out of bed, but I prefer an 11 oclockish bedtime. Although I havent been able to do that for a couple weeks, but still 1:30 is pushing it a little for me.
We will play it by ear tonight.

I had to discipline myself to not look at the iPad for the score until 6:30 so I could relax enough to sleep. That after forcing myself to think about boring stuff at work to fall asleep at 12:30. Yeah, I'd be a lot happier if we were well in first place and an individual game wasn't the crucible of our season.

God I hate our lineup right now. It sounds pessimistic but I look at that lineup and I see 2 great hitters, 1 solid hitter(Jackson) and 6 black holes. For an AL Lineup that simply isn't acceptable. Hopefully Smyly will shut them down and we can scrape across a few runs.

When Dirks and Avila our playing it is definitely deeper and if everybody plays to their potential(ie. Boesch, Raburn) it is solid, but this lineup today as is I just don't see it. It has the potential to be good if Boesch and Raburn get their crap together but as is it only has 3(maybe 4 if you count Peralta) average or better hitters in it. That's not good at all.

Forget the game. It's more fun to follow Scherzer tweeting about flying commercial ahead of the team.

Even in Central Time, I haven't been able to stay awake past the 7th inning either of the last two nights. Waking up around 6 every day since August has killed the Tigers-On-The-West-Coast flexibility that I had during undergrad.

I didn't know about Dirks when I posted this in the Miggy thread;
"What's the deal with the line-up tonight?
It looks like a line-up you would put out there if you were TRYING to lose.
No Dirks but Raburn, Worth and Laird in there?
Let's see, Dirks has a better chance of getting a hit off a LH SP than Raburn has of getting a hit off of any pitcher.
And Dirks will not only give you better defense, he could give you very good defense.
Worth or Santiago? With a LH on the mound, I would probably have Santiago at 2nd base and Dirks in LF.
Now.....watch the Tigs score 8 runs!"
With Dirks hurt, I would probably (and I don't like saying this) put Elmon in LF and Santiago at 2nd base. I've seen enough of Raburn. Forever.2013 AAT: Brennan Smith

Don't know where else to put this but I just have to vent my frustrations about what just happened to me. So I was at the bar after golf just now and I was talking to this guy about the Tigers, and he said something along the lines of "Well the Tigers will never win now that they got rid of Inge, he was more valuable than they know", and I said something like "How do you figure that, for his career he was like a .220 hitter with a .300 OBP(I don't know if those were the exact numbers but I just said them cause I knew they were close)" and he said "Who cares, you can't replace his defense", so I said "How did you feel about Adam Everett?", of course he said he sucked, so I said that he was one of the best defensive SS in baseball the past 10 years or so and he says "So what, shortstops aren't as important as thirdbasemen." God I wanted to run my head into a wall after talking to him.

Is anyone else unable to get the game audio in At Bat 12? (Android here in case it matters.) The game isn't listed in the available audio streams.

I hate to play the whole "If he was a Yankee or Red Sox" card but I have to with Smyly, How can a guy this young making his first 5 starts not get talked about more nationally after the results he has had? It's ridiculous.

I love the way Smyly goes leaping off the field after the inning. It's charmingly unaffected and youthful.
But tonight, I say we must move forward, not backward; upward, not forward; and always twirling, twirling, twirling towards freedom!
