This certainly should be easier than playing at Yankee Stadium.

If facing Hochevar can't get this offense back on track, nothing can.

I think the train gets back on track. Looking at the past few series:
Win 1 of 3 in Chicago. Disappointing because its against the White Sox, but not surprising because its on the road.
Sweep 3 of 3 in Kansas City. Terrific, 2 of 3 expected, 3 of 3 is terrific.
Win 1 of 4 at home against Texas. Expected a series split, Texas is a very good team. Not too shocking that the series went 1-3, it wouldn't have been too shocking if it went 3-1.
Swept out of 3 at home against Seattle. Simply inexcusable.
Win 1 of 3 in New York. Probably expected.

A-Jax has been crushing the ball lately. My money is on him.

Austin was on a 3 for 32 slump, then had a 4-hit game a couple days ago, but has since gone 1 for 9. :/
I feel he has safely returned to 2011 form, but we'll see.Facebook

I think Below has a good chance at passing Orel Hershiser for the consecutive scoreless innings streak.

We need this. A lower then average team and a home game. Just need a little confidence booster. Eat'em up Tigers!
Predicting 10 runs by the Tigers tonight also."Those who stay will be Champions!" -Bo

I disagree. He wasn't going to hit .500 for the whole month, 3/32 happens. It's a bad week. During that slump over five games, he was 3/22, but with 0 strikeouts. His K% has dropped, and his BB% has raised. If those rates are still up in another 3 weeks, I'll be extremely encouraged. Plus, he now has a sustainable (.345) BABIP.

After the defensive tom-foolery Don Kelly has displayed lately, why not DH him and put Dirks in LF?

Way too early in his development to be talking about position changes or trades for Castellanos.

Still too early to worry about moving Castellanos. He's a couple years away yet and no idea how Cabrera will be performing then.

Victor Martinez is in the clubhouse today. Says doctors say there is a "good chance" he could be back in September.

I just like the idea of him being in the clubhouse....ALOT.
Keep bringing him around for home games and let the dude rehab and rest when we are on the road....still rehad and rest while we are at home as well, but a couple hours a day hanging in the clubhouse could do wonders for both the team and Victor."Yeah You're right man...that is enough."

The Rays rule while the Angels and Marlins are falling off the map - GrantlandSo where can the Tigers turn, other than to the defending MVP and their $366 million corner infield bookends? Why, to Drew Smyly of course. Through his first four starts, Smyly sports a 1.23 ERA. The Elias Sports Bureau notes that Smyly is the first pitcher since 1900 to allow one run or fewer in each of his four appearances in the majors, with all four appearances being starts. He won't keep pitching at a Justin Verlander pace, of course. But there's reason to feel optimistic if you're a Tigers fan, or even a fantasy owner: Smyly carved through two of the best offenses in baseball in his past two starts, striking out 14, walking four, and allowing just two runs over 12 innings against the loaded Yankees and Rangers.2013 AAT-Mr Ilitch 2012 AAL-Willie Young 2012 AAT-Dixon Machado 2011 AAL-Tom "Killer" Kowalski 2011 AAT-Heather Nabozny 2010 AAT-Phil Coke 2008 & 2007 AAT-Sergio Collado 2007 AT-AAT-Alan Trammell 1972 AAT-Duke Sims
