Tonight's game postponed due to rain. Game rescheduled for Sept. 24 at 7:05 p.m. -- a mutual off-day for both clubs.

Lets change the subject.
Dear Fantasy Baseball Gods:
Why does Robinson Cano suck this year? Was it simply because I drafted him first on both my fantasy teams?
Humbly yours,

I also saw the plans for the new stadium. I think it was part of some larger event. Like an Olympic bid with Canada or something ridiculous. There was definitely a plan for a terrible domed stadium in Detroit. I don't know if it was retractable or not, but what I remember seeing was very conceptual. I swear I saw it on a tigers blog, or maybe it was linked from one.

So would the smart thing be to skip Below's rotation outing and use him for long relief the next few days?

True.
My infield is Napoli, Fielder, Cano, Andrus and Reynolds -- in a 12-team league with 30-man rosters. I thought I was going to kill everyone in HRs. I'm third to last so far. Reynolds has hurt me more than Cano at this point. I also need the fantasy gods to send a lightning bolt up his ***, since he seems to be doing a nice Adam Dunn circa 2011 impression so far this year.AAT: 2007 L. Oliveros | 2008-10 F. Coleman Young wanted a domed stadium. I am sure it had more to do with kickbacks than it did with weather, however. Why would you dome a baseball stadium in the midwest? I understand Miami, Seattle, Houston, Arizona...........but the elements should be part of the game.
I think the Tigers need a day off anyway. This will work out better for them on September 24th when they have Brandon Phillips playing 2b.AAT: VICTOR MARTINEZ

Here's an excellent collection of articles from 1968-1972 about a domed stadium for Detroit, including one where Fetzer apparently announced he had signed a lease to move to the new Detroit domed facility. No mention of retractable though, but who knows.
TIGER LORE: The Detroit Domed Stadium That Wasn't
I like the 1968 Windsor Star article the best. Talking about the sparkling Cobo and attempting to fill 9,000 seats. And the comment from Bruce Norris about a new arena to replace the Olympia;
You ask me about the next 50 years! I haven't got that much faith in the youth of America to look that far ahead. We might all be eaten by ants by then or overrun by Moonmen.

Why be so sensitive? Do you really think everyone here should just blindly believe everything you say if they feel it isn't plausible? I have people not believe things I say all the time, that doesn't mean they're calling me a liar, they just don't believe what I say. It happens. Move on...
That being said, jz hasn't done anything to get booted, that's a bit much. He should relax a little though and not be so sensitive.Up above, aliens hover, making home movies for the folks back home.

Something else that's interesting is that when Comerica park was built, it was done so that a retractable roof could later be added. It and Jacobs field are considered "roof ready".

The stadium was built so that it could someday have a retractable roof, should they decide to add it.

Wow... came in to read the game thread that wasn't and was really unimpressed with the way several people all joined forces to allude jz should be banned.
This is not what this forum is about and I think it's really a great reason people enjoy it here. Some of our best posters are from 1 week ago and others from 10 years ago. I think it's a slippery slope for a forum to thrive to quickly assume someone is trolling, or seeking agitation from the op.
I think often people haven't posted on forums before as well. Not saying this is the case with jz, but this was one of the two first forums I ever joined and one of only a couple I still post in to this day. When I first joined I didn't really get the rules of the highway of thread creation, etc. I don't know jz whatsoever, but I don't know what incited such frustration? The 'moron' post was not needed, but at the same time we must enjoy the irony that 'moron' is a term of endearment here.

Ike Davis, Hosmer, and Francoeur have been my fantasy duds this year. Hanley hasn't been too great either.
I actually started well, but after a 2-12 week last week I sank like a stone in the standings. Will the Delmon madness ever end? http://www.facebook.com/saynotodelmon

if there's no avatar, I assume it's a troll.
and, there have been a rash of new people here posting seemingly trollish behavior that have had little consequence for their actions. I'm not surprised people are trigger happy.

I laughed out loud Yoda. I was a posting moron here. I have been a lifelong Tiger's fan for over 30 years now like most of us (lifelong fans), but had no idea on how to post in a forum. One thing I've learned in forum posts and also over a career is that what you type often gets lost in translation. I.e., something I'd say to Yoda sarcastically over a beer watching the game might come across 'dickish' in text. I hope jz has that potential too.
Well played... hahaha Like Antrat, he's yet to say something serious since 2007 and still going strong, yet knows baseball as well as any of us :)I like a man who grins when he fights--- Sir Winston Churchill.

Day off from work, and with the crummy weather I did nothing but look forward to the game. But I guess when I think about how I tickets (section 124! A Friend got them off StubHub for $16!) to tomorrow's game, and the weather is supposed to be nice, I can't be too upset.
