You might want to change the title. The Tigers play the Mariners, not the Twins

and the year.
Retired. Thanks for the entertainment.

Bob Swift has played in some of my replayed games over the years.
Good to have a day off, get the pen back in order and maybe get the bats a day to just relax and not worry about their lack of production.
Overall, the team is 10-6 and has struggled with what is supposed to be its strength. And there's no way they keep scoring 3 or less runs like this. Yeah, things could be worse.

So much for 35-5...
Well, things could be a lot worse. They've been playing like a .500 team the last two weeks but they still have a good record. The big bats will have to heat up eventually. This is just a phase, not a trend."If you want a guarantee, buy a toaster."--Clint Eastwood

If good pitching stops good hitting, the Tigers just may be in trouble in this series as well.
The Tiger hitters appear to be very, very bad at making adjustments at the plate from one ab to the next.....1,000 runs? Yeah, right.

Yeah, but Mclendon is awesome because he fixed Austin Jackson!
Incidentally, Jackson is 2 for his last 25. The only other "fix" credited to him that I can think of since he's been here is Jhonny Perlata, who currently has a sub-.700 OPS. I really wish Cecil were here to let me know what Lloyd is doing that I'm just not aware of.Facebook

I'm ok with a #4 starter giving me 200 innings every year.
Seriously, he had a bad first start. Everyone has them. Since then he's had 2 straight good outings. He has 4 BB and 17 K this year in 14 innings. That's a Verlander-type ratio and a far better indicator of future performance than a skewed ERA based on one bad inning.Last edited by Yoda; 04-23-2012 at 12:30 AM.

Can anyone explain or has any idea of whats going on with the turf at Comerica.... Its not looking to good these days. The outfield seems to have two different types of grass and the grass area around the plate is starting to look like the outfield.

This is kind of on the topic of this thread...but not really-when the tigers were on fs plus, going "later than usual" did anyone else get their feed cut off because that's the way fs plus was scheduled?
I thought it was a glitch, but the same thing happened when game 2 of the double header happened, and the feed was cut...even though something else was scheduled at the time.
Maybe it was just me, i have att uverse...but didn't know if anyone else had that problem.Forever at the corner....

Where exactly am I "bitching and moaning" about him? A little over-dramatic there Truman... And it's not just 16 games. I was speaking of his entire time with the organization. A few people finally had something to gloat about in regards to Mclendon because Austin had a hot start. That's since disappeared. So I felt like pointing that out. I guess I shouldn't have?
Also, 16 games isn't much in the grand scheme of things, but it's a long time for an offense like this to be this stale, and they keep repeating the same mistakes. It should have reached an upswing by now. It needs to soon.Facebook

So, with Pudge retiring, he was on hand to throw out the first pitch tonight in Texas... but he decided to go all Pudge and throw it from home to 2nd.
