I'm starting to have 2008 flashbacks with this offense.

After todays game I'm wondering if it wouldn't do JL good to do a line or two with Ron Washington.

That's you saying that. Not me. I mentioned to you some people would rather see Inge not hit a home run there because of their Inge hatred, but I never said you would.
However, when someone mentioned "I think people want to see him succeed even if they don't want him on the team" I mentioned your response to my initial one that seemed to confirm there is someone that didn't want Inge to succeed.
----------------
My post
"The sad thing is there are a lot of "Tiger" fans hoping Brandon fails."
Your post responding to my post
"Because real Tiger fans know that this team is better off without him."
----------
I don't think I made up anything there. I think I was fair to think you don't want him to succeed based on that response to my comment. If you want to take it to "Wanting the Tigers to lose" that's your deal. I never said you said that. But, as I mentioned, I can think of two people I see in everyday life that would think that way."Only Lions fans can predict a victory when their starting quarterback has a broken arm." -unknown
"I'm going to go the Pistons' game tonight and watch Sheed jack up threes." -unknown

So let me try to stop laughing long enough to actually get this out.....
We pinch hit a guy hitting .057 in the 10th inning, then put in a reliever who has never pitched a day in the big leagues in the 11th, then (despite the fact it should have been a foul ball), we get lulled to sleep by a squeeze play to score the go ahead run. This would be one of those many games where Jim Leyland is out managed and it costs us a game. Don't worry kids, if you missed it, it will happen again soon.

You can have 2008 flashbacks with the offense but aside from 3 crappy games, the pitching has been damn good. And there is only one Texas in the league. The rest of our comps are pretty pedestrian.

I agree. I'm not concerned about the team overall, but it's frustrating to watch the offense struggle to score runs. Yes, I know this was Texas which is about as solid of a team there is in MLB. The April schedule is tough with Boston, Tampa, Texas and New York and coming out of it with an over .500 is fine with me. Hopefully, the Seattle series will wake up the bats. If not, we might need to call Pedro Cerano.

This team is good enough to win the central division.
Hopefully after the trade deadline they'll be good enough to beat Texas in the post season.I've been to Delaware. The second smallest state with the first fattest people.

Tigers gave this series to texas on a silver platter-how about a day off boys and then you can "grow some" and actually win a game...

I guess the most frustrating part of today was that Texas didn't even pound the ball.
They won because of free passes and sloppy defense.I've been to Delaware. The second smallest state with the first fattest people.

A scary thing about Texas. They can play two kinds of baseball.
They can beat the crap out of you like they did the first two games and then turn around and play old style Twinkie baseball--- stealing bases and bunting, suicide squeezes, etc.I've been to Delaware. The second smallest state with the first fattest people.

The lack of offense is concerning. Every batter has a terrible approach at the plate. Barely watchable right now.

They are incredibly handy for information gathering. last night we had to go over to Angry Grandpa's house as the Troll was rebelling and refusing to take her pills and tearing up everything she could get her hands on. I had to figure out what one of her pills was and was able to get the info quickly with my iPhone. It enabled me to confirm that Angry Grandpa and the Troll are both idiots. Very useful!

I find that my viewing habits are really out of whack. I'm following the game in live, non-real cartoon format (gameday) more often because I'm running around with my kids so much this early season. I long for a week of night home games when I can veg and watch unimpeded.

A) As much as Inge sucks, he's got better odds of getting a hit vs. a LH pitcher than Kelly.
B) Who else could did we really have in the pen?
C) If a squeeze is executed properly, it doesn't matter who the manager is. It actually wasn't executed properly, as the ball went off his knee.
D) They have better players, and a significantly better bullpen right now.

Detroit Tigers manager Jim Leyland on the blown call that scored the Ranger's winning run.
Detroit Tigers' Jim Leyland, plate umpire Tim Welke discuss blown call on squeeze bunt | MLive.com
• I saw just what it did. The ball came down and hit him on the back knee. Clearly. Clearly. That’s not even a question. The ball clearly hit him, and four guys happened to miss it. That’s part of the game.
• I’m not going to get upset if that’s what you guys are trying to get me to do, get me upset at the umpires. It’s simple. You all saw it. You don’t need a quote from me. Write and talk about what you saw. I don’t need to say it. Write what you guys think you saw. I’m not going to sit here and blast the umpires. I’m not going to do that.
• The ball hit him in the back knee. There’s no question about that. If somebody thinks there is, then good. Write that you don’t think it hit him. Write what you guys saw. You always want quotes from somebody else -- write what you saw. You’re watching the game. I’m not going to get all over the umpires about it.
• It’s too bad, but that’s the way it goes. We didn’t swing the bats, and to put this all on the umpires would be totally wrong. I don’t buy that.
• I don’t want to sit here and complain about one play. That’s not fair. We didn’t swing the bats. That’s not fair to the umpiring. I’m upset about it, because I felt like somebody should have seen it. But at the same time, we just didn’t swing the bats. We didn’t hit."If you want a guarantee, buy a toaster."--Clint Eastwood
