I've just found 20 to 25 great black and white photos from Tiger Stadium in the late '70s, all of them shots of fans in the stands. Some of it is Diane Arbus-like in the way people are caught by the camera. If anyone reading this sees themselves in these photos from 35 years ago, I mean this in a nice way.

8 right hand bats but a pretty weird defensive alignment. Of course right now with RR and BI the term 'bat' has to be taken pretty loosely

Oh, but I was guaranteed by people on this forum that Inge wouldn't DH. Good call on that one.

I wonder why he is DH, maybe due to Avila getting beat up so much yesterday? I had thought the story said that Leyland said Inge was starting 2B on Sunday. So maybe Avila was going to DH while Laird was behind the plate?

Inge DHing is just over the top. Is he hitting enormously well against the White Sox starter or something?

Sale was from the 2010 draft, (Sox 1st rounder). He has pitched against the tigers 10 times, all in Relief. 14.2 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 4BB, 15K, 2 HR

Boesch is getting a day off. So Raburn playing outfield. Santiago needs to be available as a back up SS. It kind of makes sense if you assume Boesch needs a day off.

After Raburn/Santiago won the second base job, Inge asked Leyland if he could compete for the DH role.

Indeed...somehow because Raburn makes 5 or so funny errors a year people also seem to assume that he cannot move. Raburn is consistently strong speed/range wise in the OF, and has a good arm for the OF.

No surprise at all that after DY's hilarious error on Friday he's still playing every freaking day in LF. The Tigers absolutely love Delmon Young. He will not be moving from LF or the #5 slot in the lineup unless the entire Tigers brass suddenly dies.

I can understand people saying that Leyland is really good at managing people but why would anybody ever express confidence in the wisdom of his lineups and defensive assignments? They are consistently ridiculous.

I think if Fister were progressing nicely that the good news concerning his mild injury that is healing quickly would have been become public by now...In this case, I think no news is bad news. I hope I'm wrong.

In case you missed it, Tigers not using a DH today. They're using a DCS -- Designated Check Swinger. Not sure why the switch.
