If the Tigers win this one, they've got the series.

How long do you suppose it takes Nelson Cruz to get his eyebrows so pretty?

It's going to be tough. I don't think the Rangers will be backing down one bit.

if the Tigers start hitting like there was a hint of tonight... these will be two easy away games

Doesn't your post sort of contradict itself?

I think if the Tigers can keep hitting winning the games will be easier but they will be far from easy.

yes and no... The Tigers Pitching has given up seven runs twice. I have a lot of faith in Scherzer, more so in a win if he can go 7 or 8 innings.

I just look at that last inning and Texas was not laying down.

maybe it is all about who scores seven runs

While I am very optimistic that Fister can put the boys on his shoulders for game 7 (if they get that far), I do not expect either game to be easy. Could this be lining up to be one of the most competitive 7 game series in baseball history?

I guess I just find it sort of contradicting/funny to see you first post that it'll be tough and that the Rangers won't back down. But then go on to say if the Tigers score runs, it'll be easy.

Not making a big deal of it or anything, mainly pointing out that I couldn't help but laugh when I read it.

It would be nice to have an easy no-doubter but that seems unlikely. I have always thought that every series the Tigers would be in this postseason would go the limit and nothing that has happened has dissuaded me from thinking that. I can't imagine what it must be like to play under the pressure of this situation. The ups and downs and all. It's hard as a fan. If it is actually happening to you on the field it must be ultra intense.

I've found a use for Al Al.

Tigers up by 8, bottom of the 9th, two outs.

Al Al comes in and rails Cruz with a 99 mph fastball, right in the knee cap. Gets kicked out, Coke finishes with one pitch.

    Tigers win.

Last night and all day today I was walking around with a rain cloud over my head because of the deflating loss last night. When we hit for the cycle I had a re-kindling and visions of the WS of 1968 dancing thru my head. It's one game at a time, literally, but I have a strong feeling if Max pitches like Max has pitched this post-season and the O continues to pick up steam...... if we get this thing to Fister one more time, it could be Valverde and Avila for Lolich and Freehan in the immortal photo.

Suddenly the Tigers seem to have new life. And they had gone back to NY and gutted it out. Why not Arlington, tho it needs to be twice? One of the games could be a blow-out, the likes of which we've not seen in the post-season. This team is SO due!!

I'm feeling so good, because I love Fister so much. If Scherzer can win his start, and I'm 70/30 that he can, then game 7 is a formality. Honestly I'm almost at the point where I have more fun watching Fister pitch than Verlander. Not quite, but I know that you know what I mean. He throws a strike, and then he gets the ball back andthenhetakesthesignandhethrowsanotherfrickinstri keandthenhegetstheballbackandthenhethrowsanotherfr ickinstrike. It's just a completely amazing thing thing to witness.

My goodness, what about Delmon Young? 5 home runs in the post-season. That ties him with Craig Monroe. Oh yeah, and Hank Greenberg.

I just watched a post game interview with Max and he seems confident. He said this is the situation he wants to be in and it will be a start of a lifetime. He seems to be in as perfect a place as he could be, including knowing how crazy the crowd will be.

Not only did Delmon tag the ball today, but I noticed Delmon was back to throwing overhand today after all side arm since the series started. Miracle recovery I guess.

No matter what happens, you have to hand it to these guys. They're playing their asses off.

    Losing players to injury
Players playing hurt (Avila, Young, Ordonez, etc.)
Starters schedules all out of whack in both series'
    An absolutely exhausted bullpen
A LOT of really close games

It's been a pretty tiring and stressful October for these guys. If/when they do lose, there will probably be a small part in each of them that will be ok that they can finally go home and relax.

Even though the Tigers were down 2-0 and 3-1, this has been a pretty closely played series. I think on the pregame, they said out of the 86 or so half-innings, around 73 or 74 were played with the teams tied or one run ahead.

I understand and I feel contradicted. Like last night, when the Tigers had scored seven runs, I thought, that should be enough, but I think they also need more runs, because the Rangers can apparently rally in any inning - down or not

This. Aside from the 2 blowouts against the Yanks, we've been treated to some really, really competitive baseball this postseason, and considering what you've mentioned above, it'd probably be easy to pack it in after falling behind 3 games to 1. But there's Verlander out there throwing 100 MPH on pitch number 133. There's Martinez out there legging out a triple even though he can't run a lick. There's Young out there smacking 2 homeruns and playing as solid of defense as can be expected despite his pains. There's Avila out there grinding it out despite slump and fatigue. Exciting baseball with a compelling twist to it. I believe they can make it to the World Series, but even if they don't, this has still been a great season.

I didn't follow Wilson's season, but from what I've seen this series I agree with the writer, there is no way that Wilson should command a 100 million dollar contract.

I'm actually looking forward to the night off tonight. This has been a really stressful week of baseball!

I didn't follow Wilson's season, but from what I've seen this series I agree with the writer, there is no way that Wilson should command a 100 million dollar contract.

I'm actually looking forward to the night off tonight. This has been a really stressful week of baseball!
But he's worth more than 50 cents. I thought he was overly hard on Wilson. Not surprising, as there's a tendency of all of us after a loss to look at everything one's own team did wrong rather than what the other team did well.
