With the lefty on the mound, I expect raburn at second and maggs in right. But that is only if delmon is ok. If delmon is out, then raburn in left and Santiago at second. Inge should be the starting third baseman.
Ajax is only the third most valuable tiger.

Is Ogando in the Rangers rotation? He's the one pitcher who scares me.

Looking forward to more Tigers baseball!
Between being in Chicago for a wedding last weekend, a bunch of hours at a recently acquired job, rehearsals for a play I'm in, and having the laptop's hard drive replaced, haven't had much time to post or read anyone else's thoughts. All these post-season threads will make for fun reading in the off-season, though!@MrPaulOzzOslund Model citizen, zero discipline.

Ogando will remain in bullpen (as of Oct 5):
Link
Ogando had a good track record against the Tigers this season, going 3-0 with a 1.29 ERA in three starts. But, in the postseason, the Rangers view him as a better bullpen weapon.
He allowed no runs on one hit over 2 2/3 innings of relief against the Rays, making all three of his appearances in games the Rangers won.
"We're committed to Ogando in the bullpen," Washington said. "He gives us too much right now in the scenario that we're in."
Daniels agreed, saying Ogando might have a bigger effect out of the bullpen against the Tigers than he would in the rotation.
By staying in the bullpen, he has a chance to affect more games throughout the series.

Based on four day's rest, the rotation would be:
Game 1 (Sat): Verlander
Game 2 (Sun): Porcello
Game 3 (Tue): Fister (or Scherzer)
Game 4 (Wed): Scherzer (or Fister)

I think that Washington might be right about Ogando. I remember the way that we felt about Zumaya...Ogando gives them a similar kind of presence.

The Rangers rotation is Wilson-Holland-Lewis-Harrison. That doesn't exactly scare me.

I think the Tigers will win in five or six. Our offense is very good again lefties, which is supposed to be the strength of the Rangers starting pitching.

In the last couple months, Ogando was showing a lot of fatigue, because he went WAY over his previous innings total. He was skipped for at least one start in September, and the plan the entire time was to get him back in the BP when the playoffs started. That's where he was last season, and he was excellent. Starting was a new thing for him, and it worked out rather well. But I don't think it would be wise to put him back in the rotation considering how subpar he looked the last 6-8 weeks. Those previous results vs the Tigers would mean nothing. All those were before he started his downward trend.

You can see by going to that link how ineffective Ogando was, conveniently in the starts following the Aug 4 game vs Detroit.

For some reason I'm seeing a 7 game series.... and I'm thinking that might not be a bad thing. The irrational fan in me is remembering how long the Tigers had to wait between the ALCS and the WS in '06 and how that turned out... even though I know in my head that's not sound thinking.
This spot, and a place in my heart, is reserved for TC.

I think Cabrera is going to have a big series. Even the best players have bad 5 game stretches. In the playoffs they stand out more.
I don't think you can keep Cabrera down for another 7 games.

If the Tigers and Brewers happen to meet in the World Series, I know I'm going to grow to hate Nyger Morgan.

After the way Nyger Morgan was talking **** about Pujols and how Milwaukee was going to the playoffs, it would be funny to see St Louis advance and Milwaukee lose.

6. Peralta SS
7. Avila C
8. Inge 3B
9. Santiago 2B

I'm torn about Phils-Cards. Probably clears the path to a title better if St. Louis wins, but a Tigers-Phillies WS if they both make it that far would yield some delicious matchups. And Philadelphia fans are entertainingly obnoxious, that would get our blood flowing. I see St. Louis is more bland, especially since we already faced them in 2 of our past 3 World Series.

Could you imagine another Detroit-St Louis World Series? The media would crazy about how wonderful it is that the two most miserable cities in the US have teams in the World Series.

Everyone needs to remember that Texas is still a hell of an Offense.
#1 in Average, #3 in Runs (Detroit #4 70 behind), #2 in HR, #5 in SB
Also the only stat that our pitchers were better in were Saves.VT B.R.B. "We only part to meet again"
