You must've missed all the arguments about Porcello's upside. And apparently we can't all agree on Verlander, either.

I think Avila, Peralta, Scherzer, and Valverde are the most non-controversial.

People wanted to send Avila to the minor leagues and suggested he only had the job due to nepotism not that long ago

And Jhonny Peralta is still the worst :-|

I'll admit that to me Avila didn't look like he had a clue at the plate early last yr and I thought he would benefit from MiLB ABs. He was a dead duck on any kind of breaking ball by a right hander down toward his back foot, but I give him all the credit in the world for being able to make his adjustments against MLM pitchers.
