The main thing that will help this team win on the road is good starting pitching. We didn't have it on the road last year and thus far it's been terrible.

I think they'll be all right as long as Rick and Max continue to improve. Coke should be just fine for a back of the rotation guy. I don't have a lot of faith in Penny but he has a lot more upside than AG. Same goes for Oliver and Turner. We'll know a lot more in 30 days

I moved to the Washington DC area just as Camden Yards was being built and had the opportunity to attend games, including Tiger games there for about 10 years. It's among my absolute favorite stadiums to date, though I have a good number yet to visit. Fortunately, I was also able to see the Tigers play the Orioles at the old Memorial Stadium during the O's final season there. That was a bandbox - a real fun, rowdy, colorful place to see a ballgame.

I think this is all part of Leyland's plans to avoid a second half swoon. If we play really terribly in the first half, then the second half won't seem worse and we can't make the argument that Leyland is worse in the second half.

3 ugly losses have negated my capacity to eagerly anticipate the next game. I was going to complain about this off-day, but I can't bring myself to do it now.

Assuming Raburn plays tomorrow, it is pretty crazy that he has gotten the equivalent of three days off in a row this early.

Also, no sighting of Casper Wells yet.

We still suck on the road. Hopefully we're equally as good at home as we've been in the past.

Would anyone believe Tex just hit a 3-run homer?

I can't get too upset. These Yankees hitters are all red-hot right now. At least they're doing the same to the Twins now.

I am so tired of the Red Sox I find myself rooting for the Yankees to take them out. It takes a lot of tired to make that happen. It's Tex's 4th homer of the year too. Who does he think he is? Dmitri Young a la 2005?

I'm not sure what we'll know is going to be good news. This team struggles to win on the road period. That's not good news.

Don't be all 'glass half empty'. The Tigers are only 2 1/2 out of first and the first place team is coming to Comerica this weekend.

Luke Scott missed his second straight game with a strained groin, but the Orioles expect him back in the lineup on Wednesday.

The only things that have me concerned early are Avila's defense and Raburn's PT.

Let's be sure to pass this along to Tiger's pitching. In 80 career plate appearances, Scott has hit 10 HRs which contribute to his OPS of 1.394. Tonight Verlander just has to tell Scott's statistics to shut up.
