I think he is just out of gas for the year. His ERA has basically blown-up since he reached about 95 innings. After not pitching seriously for two years, I don't know how surprising that should be.....

Maybe this series coming up the Tigs won't be wound tight as springs like it seems they are when they're trying to hold onto the division lead. Maybe in the back of most of their minds they feel they're realistically out of this thing and will handle this team like they usually do and should.

Good to see we won't have to face ZG this series. I like our chances alot better on that alone, even tho we have taken a measure of him the last year +.

Detroit has the 2nd best home record in the AL at 41-24. The only team better than Detroit at home is New York at 42-22.

Detroit has the 3rd worst road record in the AL at 20-39. The only teams worse than Detroit on the road are Seattle (20-43) and Baltimore (17-43)

We lose power a lot in Florida. I can stand to not have it. It's not knowing when the h..l it's going to come back on is what drives me nuts. I never know when it's time to grill all the meat and eat all the ice cream.

Tonight's lineup: Jackson 8, Rhymes 4, Damon dh, Cabrera 3, Raburn 7, Peralta 6, Inge 5, Wells 9, Laird 2.

I wish Boesch would have gotten the start. He had a nice series against the Indians and I'd like to see him build on it against the Royals.

I think all those prognostication sites actually underestimate the chances for longshots. An injury here or there could really mess up the other teams. Plus they could not have known Casper Wells was being called up. Add in a little luck and I bet the Tigers have close to a 0.4% chance.

I'd agree with that notion. I want to see Casper out there as well, in left field in place of Raburn.

If I were coaching JB i'd tell him two things:

- if you're thinking changeup, throw the slider
- back the fastball's velocity down a little, maybe it will have more life, and maybe you won't implode at the 80 pitch mark

He'll strike out 10 over the first four innings, then give up 13 earned in the 5th. Might have been only 9 runs but Jim was busy sneaking a smoke down in the clubhouse.
