9-11-07: GAME ONE - Texas Rangers (Padilla) @ Detroit Tigers (Durbin), 1:05

From Comerica Park in Detroit, MI, it's the
Defending American League Champion

versus the

MLB Standings
PITCHING MATCHUP:

Det - Chad Durbin, RHP (8-6, 4.57)

Tex - Vicente Padilla, RHP (5-9, 6.01)
Scouting Report:
Rangers: Padilla is 2-1 with a 4.08 ERA in five starts since coming off the disabled list after pitching six scoreless innings in a 3-2 victory over Kansas City on Wednesday. But that start was at home. This is on the road. Padilla is 4-3 with a 3.28 ERA in 10 starts at home as opposed to 1-6 with a 9.06 ERA in 10 starts on the road. Since the beginning of last season, Padilla is 12-8 with a 4.24 ERA in 27 starts in Arlington, and is 8-11 with a 5.85 ERA on the road. He is 2-0 with a 2.70 ERA in three career starts against the Tigers.
Tigers: Durbin didn?t allow a run over five innings in his last start against the White Sox, but he was done after just 78 pitches. Durbin has moved in and out of the bullpen due to injuries in the Tigers rotation and isn?t yet conditioned to throw a high number of pitches. Durbin admitted to manager Jim Leyland that he was struggling to keep the ball down in the strike zone against the White Sox, so he agreed to come out of the game. He made one relief appearance earlier this season against the Rangers, allowing one run over two innings.

I love afternoon games (when I'm at home).
As a side note..Maggs justs needs 36 more consecutive hits to win the MVP (and be the first player since TW to hit .400).
Big, big, big day for us. Go JAYS!

I'll be at this game, on the 3d base line behind the Tiger dugout.

I hate when leyland bunches his left handers together. It makes it much easier late in the game to bring in a lefty reliever and keep him in there to face all of them.

It's really annoying how the radio feature of mlb.com is still priced at a full-year subscription price of $14.95, even though the season is almost over. They used to prorate it and give you a deal at the end of the year but not any longer. They act just like a monopoly that doesn't have to care about the consumer because that's what they are.

I hope the Tigers win this game, then I hope they win the second game as well. I also hope that the Yankees and Indians lose.
