8-03-07: Chicago White Sox (Buehrle) @ Detroit Tigers (Miller), 7:05

From Comerica Park in Detroit, MI, it's the
Defending American League Champion

versus the

MLB Standings
PITCHING MATCHUP:

Det - Andrew Miller, LHP (5-3, 3.76)

Chi - Mark Buehrle, LHP (8-6, 3.06)
Scouting Report:
White Sox: Buehlre looked very sharp in his last start against the Blue Jays, throwing just two days after the birth of his first child. The southpaw fired eight shutout innings, while striking out six and walking just one. The performance was a sharp turnaround from his previous outing, in which he gave up a season-high 14 hits in 6 1/3 innings against the Tigers. Buehrle has traditionally pitched well against the AL Central rivals, going 11-8 all-time with a 3.22 ERA.
Tigers: After a wild outing at Chicago that included back-to-back pitches sailing to the backstop, Miller adjusted too far in the other direction for the Tigers' liking in his last start against the Angels, dropping his velocity and pitching too carefully to hitters at the bottom of the Angels order. The message seemingly got across to the 22-year-old rookie on trying to find middle ground for his rematch with the White Sox.

Tigers are due for a "fun" game. This is going to be it.
Buehrle will last 1 2/3 innings, giving up 8 runs..

I'll be in attendance for the first time this year...should be a blast

Here's hoping Andrew Miller goes over 6 innings today so we 1.) have a chance to win and 2.) dont have to rely heavily (if at all) on Grilli or Byrdak to keep us in the game.

I predict an excellent game by Miller and fan support to be at an all-time high after the Tigers road trip.
Glad to have them back at home.

The only games that were lost in my attendance this season was one where Grilli came in and blew the lead (surprise surprise), one not-so-great Robertson start right before he went on the DL, and the last home game Mike Maroth started where Rodney totally blew the lead.
So I really don't think any of those were my fault, haha. I would be 11-1 if the bullpen didn't suck.

If it's as hot in Detroit, as it is here, i look for the Tigers to win in a shootout, 14-8. Inge with 2 HR and 6 RBI. Miller gives up runs in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 6th. Not one run will score in his "mental" inning.

I'm trying to think of a way to get Raburn out of the game later on, while letting Monroe continue to play. Casey will pinch-hit for Raburn in the 3-slot. Casey will then take over for Hessman at 1st base. Infante will then play RF and will bat in Hessman's spot. Get it done, Jim. But whatever you do, don't(!!!) take Monroe out of the lineup! He's clutch.
