Havent been able to go first to third tonight.

Do you think most runners would have taken third on that Guillen hit?
But tonight, I say we must move forward, not backward; upward, not forward; and always twirling, twirling, twirling towards freedom!

Red up. He better do something productive here....some RBIs would be lovely."I'm convinced that every boy, in his heart, would rather steal second base than an automobile." ~ Tom Clark

Got it. Sorry about that -- I didn't read it that way.

I love Nate. Completely beside the fact that he is pitching very well, he just seems like a great teammate.

That was absolutely horrendous. You don't ground into a double play on a 3-0 swing....

Shelton sucks hard. You don't GIDP on a 3-0 count. Wait for your pitch instead of hitting a weak ground ball to a SS or take to try and walk.
-
06-24-2006, 08:58 PM #346
Anyone ought to know to work the count on a pitcher that's at the end of his run---especially with LaRussa micromanaging the bully

I was about to say,
If he grounds out on a 3-0 count i will puke.. thanks Mr. Shelton..PLAY NINE EVERY NIGHT

wainwrght will be relieving suppan in the sixth.
he was the guy i was talking about last night. he's the one in our bullpen that still has nasty, nasty stuff. he's a strikeout pitcher. if you guys get on top of him and wear him out, there's no one better in the bullpen that'll be trotted out for long relief.
-
06-24-2006, 08:59 PM #349
He is so ******* horrible, it's ridiculous. He doesn't swing at all the first pitch grooved fastballs, but he decides to rip away at a 3-0 count. My God....

Kenny should be pulled here IMO before he puts the team in any further deficit.
The Sux won today so I'd like to keep pace.

Cards may just have weathered an usual outing by Suppan---and pull this one out!

You are in a terrible slump yet you swing on 3-0?? Where is the logic??
-

The Cardinal color guy said Al Kaline had an idea to reduce the wearing of armor at the plate. Solution: if you wear it at the plate, you have to wear in the field.
The color guy thought it was a grand idea. He did not comtemplate the DH wearing armor. But tonight, I say we must move forward, not backward; upward, not forward; and always twirling, twirling, twirling towards freedom!

42K at the park--a sellout?? didn't think that park was that small.

I really don't think first base is a place where you can have someone producing like this and expect to contend.

At this point I don't think Shelton has much when he steps in the batters box. Most of the at bats I see him take are horrible. At some point you've got to send him down to Toledo to rework his approach at the plate because he seems to be slow to adjust.
