Has anyone mentioned tonight that Granderson is good?
-

God, he's good. A nice little gapper here by PP would be nice.

I can almost get a feeling of a World Series matchup here.

Curtis Granderson, if I had a daughter, she'd be yours for the asking.
But tonight, I say we must move forward, not backward; upward, not forward; and always twirling, twirling, twirling towards freedom!

I didn't say if it is right or wrong just repeating their statement. I thought it was interesting because I had never heard that theory.

In June Granderson is hitting .326 with a .968 OPS.

Awesome play by Shelton to steal a hit.

Maybe Shelton doesn't suck as much as I thought. He still sucks.

I just took a look at the 2006 payroll list and the top four payroll teams are AL team, and the average AL team spends $83.5MM versus $72.4MM for the average NL team. So at first it looks like a defendable argument.

So the conclusion is: the Cardinal color guy doesn't know what he's talking about this time. He's got three hours to fill, and he's gonna do it however he can.But tonight, I say we must move forward, not backward; upward, not forward; and always twirling, twirling, twirling towards freedom!

Unless he hits a game-winning or a game-tying home run tonight, he is not going to make up for that stupid 3-0 GIDP.

I'll go you one better: remove the other outlier, the penurious Florida Marlins, from the list, and the average NL team outspends the average AL team, $76.2MM to $74.9MM.

Whoa -- good close-up of Molina saying his piece to Guillen before he steps to the plate, with Molina's eyes darting out toward second base a couple of times. I would LOVE to know what was said.

Payroll is an easy out for explaining success and failure of a baseball franchise.
I am impressed by Wainright. He should be in the rotation instead of Suppan.

What a night of watching ESPN news instead of the game and what I learned:
1. Andre Agassi to retire
2. Def freakin Leppard has a new album coming out

Mike Shannon really loves Comerica Park---the new StLouis stadium is a lot like it in showing off the Arch and nearby sights.
