I questioned Jacques Lemaire for starting Josh Harding for tonight's Blackhawks game against the Wild at the United Center. I preferred that Nik started tonight's game and Josh starting last night's game or have Nik start both games. After this weekend, Jacques showed why he is a Hall of Famer and a great coach while I am nothing more than a Monday Morning Quarterback fan. Jacques played his hunches well, and it resulted to a great weekend as the Wild got 4 points to put them back in the playoff race as the last playoff seed for now.
Josh Harding was phenomenal at the United Center tonight. He was the reason why the Wild stole this victory against the Hawks. I thought the Hawks outplayed the Wild for two periods especially the first period. Chicago was outscoring and outshooting the Wild with a 20-4 edge in that first period.
The Wild settled down after Chicago scored as they were able to score on a power play, and they did not look back. From there, the Wild were able to get their shots in. I thought their PK was great too including the 5-on-3 to start the second period. It was fitting that the game ended with the Wild killing off a PP as the Hawks had numerous power plays throughout the game.
Oh I read that someone whined about a high-stick, which the Wild scored to tie the game. She needs to have a clue. There was no high-stick when Fritschke scored that goal. He hit the puck straight through the net. There was no stick raised so I have to wonder about her thought process. I watched the highlight like five times. There was no motion of a high-stick in slow relay.
I thought this weekend was what the doctor ordered for the Wild. The Wild are going on a big Western Canada/West Coast trip starting Friday, and then they go on a East Coast trip. Their season will be defined from those trips. If they do well, they will make the playoffs, and they could get that fifth seed.Last edited by Timberwolf; 02-23-2009 at 02:38 AM.

What I wouldn't give for a Chicago vs Minnesota smack talk forum so I wouldn't have to stab myself in the eyeballs repeatedly.
Every time you play a hand of you poker you wanna run through a mental check list. Head Position Hand Position Neck Position Breathing Posture. More than 25 items. It's a lot. And that why I've come up with a handy mnemonic device. Just one word: HPHPNPBPECMSPAMDCPAFTSTTL. It's easy.

Before you blindly attempt insulting someone, try making sense first.
Fritchie had his stick above the crossbar as he slapped that puck past Huet and into the net. By definition, that IS high-sticking. If you didn't see how high the stick was (it was almost shoulder high), then you need to have eye surgery.09-10 Blackhawks Attendance Record (including 4-2 in the playoffs): 19-4-0

because Timberwolf always has to make some sort of remark to set off either Chicagogirl, Spawn2004 or myself. Hell I barely bring Chicago teams unless its about predictions, a game involving them or a thread involving them, Its only usually when Timbo says something that gets us in a ruckus. I like Timberwolf and all, but he does usually start that ****.

maybe its just me the fact that people who dont cheer for Detroit teams hang around here this much is amusing not just the fact that we have a Minny-Chi hate fest going on.
As to the game, it looked like a goal to me. My roommate is a blackhawks fan and he was watching it and I think even he thought it was a goal, or at least he wasnt cussing all over the place like he usually does when something bad happens to one of his teams.2010 AAL Louis Delmas - 84 tackles 2 sacks 2 FF - Pro Bowl Alternate

You guys crack me up. Such widely differing views of the same play. It may have been above the crossbar for a high stick, or it may not have been, but at the very least it was borderline. And had to be reviewed, as it was. I don't see how anyone could watch the replay and not at least think it was open for debate.
EDIT: I tend to agree with Johnny Mac. But not as clearcut as Timber made it out to be.Last edited by lordstanley; 02-23-2009 at 08:55 PM.

Its he knows he can exaggerate, down talk and talk **** about Chicago teams here and everyone will have his back because Chicago seems to be the aim of everyone's hate in the division. If that same exact play would of happened against Detroit Saturday instead of yesterday in Chicago, he'd probably say "I'm surprised they called that a goal, the Wings have the right to complain about it, It was totally a high stick, The Wings are a respectable franchise and shouldn't have to be cheated out of a win tonight especially with those despicable Chicago Blackhawks trying to think they can even catch the wings".

I doubt he says that. You think Chicago is the hate of the division? I am pretty sure most people hate the Wings more. But this is Wings message board, not a Wild or BKHawks board, so its not wise to be trash talking them on here which is why he holds back IMO. If he did that kind of stuff it goes into troll behavior and that can get you banned.

you don't know Timberwolf like I do
. He seems cool, but damn sometimes he just irks me. I still think he just kisses *** on here.
I know Chicago sports isn't liked at all for the most point on this site. I mean when he insults them I'm sure it was cute and funny at first and everyone got a good laugh, but after awhile, didn't it just get to the point where it gets boring, old or stale? Plus like I said, Chicago vs. minny hate-fest brawls don't usually start until he says something and I'm sure most posters are annoyed by them. Maybe the problem should be nipped in the bud....permanentlyLast edited by whitesox901; 02-23-2009 at 11:55 PM.

Oh I was waiting for this one to happen before any Chicago people even posted. As to the kissing *** part, like I said, this is a DETROIT message board, so getting on the wrong side of the people here isnt a good idea. If you want to hate on Detroit you could to a minnesota or chicago board, i bet there is a ton of it there.
