why, because they are winning the series 2-1? if they hold home ice, they win. they dont need to win any in calgary

You are the one arguing that it exists. You tell me. There is no inherent advantage to playing at home in the NHL. There are no set offensive and defensive possessions, where crowd noise can make a difference. There is nothing unique about the dimensions of the playing surface.

The fact that Calgary won so many at home and so few on the road likely has more to do with sample size and luck (good and bad).

The home team gets last change and can dictate matchups. The road team has to try to change on the fly to avoid matchups.

in the nhl, the home team gets the last line change(can matchup who they want), they get to sleep in their own bed and play in their time zone. *edit* i guess nhl rinks are same size, could have sworn some look bigger

I'll give you the last line change. That is a slight advantage. I don't see it accounting for such a discrepancy. But rink size is uniform in the NHL.

what advantage does home have in any other sport besides baseball? i think the last line change makes hockey 2nd most important sport to have home ice(or court) in

More uninspired play from the Wings. When did we become too good to block a shot. Robert Lang is the softest player in the league on the puck. Schneider can't stop taking penalties. Too lazy, too slow once again.
