Any chance we could allow larger Avatars?
I'm not talking 400x400, or anything crazy like that, but 50x50 is just too small. I know other forums do it.
Maybe 100x100 or 200x200 at most? Maybe only for VIP members? I bet it would get more people to buy a membership!

Awesome! Thanks for the quick reply! Any details? Or are you taking suggestions?

All I want is MotownWebguy's avatar to blink just one eye at me. That is all I want....oh and to be able to use small gifs for avatars also.
I would hate to see them get too big though. 100x100 tops IMO."Yeah You're right man...that is enough."

I would vote for no bigger than 100x100... preferably just 75x75. One of the things I love about this forum is that it isn't crazy with huge avatars and massive sig pictures.

you can hide avatars and signatures if you want.

I hide sigs, but like to see the avatars. What is the dealo with yours BTW? It is red 'x'd and streched all weird.

100 x 100 is just right for this forum IMO. 200 x 200 is too gaudy because of all the content on the sidebars etc.

Then again, I am of the opinion that I should be able to use this as my avatar:

This is my avatar at about 100 X 100. Certainly wouldn't want it to be bigger than this.

Here it is at around 75 X75. This seems less over the top than 100 X 100, but I wish there was a bit more detail. I'd probably go with 75 X 75. At 100 X 100, the avatar almost overwhelms the post, but I like the detail.

I like the 75x75. Makes me look younger.

I vote for 100x100. I like the size and detail, and I'm sure we'd all get used to it.
Also, you can totally do gifs right now...

I kind of like it the way it is, too many other forums are all about avatars and signatures. It makes it hard to find the content in all that junk.

Have to agree also. I would not be fan of the content per page ratio dropping any more than its now fairly reasonable balance. I'd hate to see this board end up looking like WSI. I think it reaches a point where the working page area can get so short it actually inhibits more in-depth discussion; or then again maybe we are just smarter than Chicagoans....

speaking of avatar... I am on this new social network and what every avatar you have at the time you post on the forum, that avatar appears in the the conversation, even if you change that avatar.
let me tell you I learned the hard way that 'love goat' avatar can come back to haunt you...I'm sure this is wrong
